haven't had much time to blog over the past few days. been pretty busy over the weekend. working some crazy hours... worked at sidewalk on friday 3-8pm and saturday morning from 11-5. after that i worked at Space too (its the club thats associated with the new bar i'm working at) 10pm to 5am. but I only got home at 6.30 cuz didn't have bus. slept for 2 hours, and then left for work at sidewalk again. worked for 11-5. super anot? kena sore throat already. from the lack of sleep and working at the club la. not used to that kind of environment lioa. all the cigarette smoke. ugh. can't wait for aussie to ban smoking in all the clubs :) that law is coming into effect soon apparently.

bleh..my throat is killing me. combo with blocked nose too. sighh. ooo.. but the girls at the club were dammnn hot :) i don't remember seeing so many HQ chicks in the same room before. all with chun body (well..almost) and alot of them were quite pretty. and dressed VERY nicely :) hot pants, mini skirts, low necklines, no necklines... got a few girls wearing a V-type dress. dunno what the hell its called la. but its just 2 strips of cloth covering each breast...looks like its bare-it-all if she bends over. nice! it was pretty exciting at first. but got used to it after a while la...cuz all the girls kinda look the same :) i can't really tell non-asians apart. they are either italian/greek/lebanese/watever. so many different cultures in aussie.

ok...pics and a short recap of our wollongong trip. first stop was the biggest buddhist temple in the southern hemisphere. At least i think that was what Thos mentioned. but its not hard to believe anyway, what else is in the southern hemisphere o_O

Anyway.. the temple is pretty nice. lots of greenery and stuff. i haven't been to much chinese temples, so can't compare. but i suppose its pretty impressive la.

and the pagoda

We aren't allowed to take pictures inside the the temples, but its fine in the surrounding areas, like

thos & andy like climbing on stuff...

Next stop was the blowhole at Kiama. Kinda disappointing cuz the blowhole wasn't blowing :p I don't think i've seen one in person before. but the scenary was pretty nice, so we took plenty of pictures.

The grass was nice and soft. Not prickly at all

We had lunch after that and proceeded to Jamberoo Park, highlight of the day! BUTTTTT

Good on ya Andy o_O

Nothing much else to do, so we went to the Wollongong beach/lighthouse place and took a couple more pictures. We wanted to watch a movie after that... but there was nothing on. So just ended up walking around the local Westfield... until it closed at 4pm o_O Dinner was at the Wollongong Builder's club .. so we just headed there to lepak till dinner.

yeahh...Thos really likes to mount random objects

We had an all-you-can-eat buffet dinner at night. a decent selection of food, and its cheap too! only $18.50 per head (and $13.50 on weekdays) As usual, i ended up stuffing myself wayyyyyyyyyy too much.

I just realised Betty always takes the group pictures

No more pics after that...too busy gorging myself ^_^ And thats about it for Wollongong. didn't get to see the blowhole and the park... but it was still a good day la. better than playing WoW at home :p

its been a good weekend! i actually spent most of the time NOT playing warcraft :) I started work at the bar on friday. but didn't get to do much. too busy for me to start at their bar, so i just worked as a glassie for most of the night. i picked up $11 in tips though :) sweeeet!!

i worked on saturday...nothing eventful. but we went over to ken & betty's and crashed. we had dinner at their local RSL..and KRISPY KREME!! 2 dozen donuts... we didn't eat it all laaa :p Suncorp Andy came over abit later as well. I assume fei hai was busy playing WoW at home :p

Next morn... headed off to Wollongong at about 9.30am. Its a nice drive. Although I wasn't the one doing the driving :) Some of the roads remind me of the Great Ocean Road. Long and winding...not much cars. Greenery all around. nice! emmm.. i'll continue this later la. i haven't uploaded the pictures. but i need to go now. gotta head off to my job interview. ugh.. haven't put on a tie in ages. feels so uncomfortable.

i feel so bummed out today. don't feel like doing anything. i'm too lazy to do work on the website, and feel too guilty when i play games. so i've just been staring at the ceiling. productive huh? :p

i'm just waiting till i can leave for work la. its weird. when i'm at work, I want to go home. when i'm at home, i want to go work. u can't win. aihs. neway, i arranged for an interview for monday. i don't know what to expect from the position la. their website ain't very informative. at first i thought the position was webmaster/online administrator. but its 2 different roles apparently. i'll find out more when i head out on monday.

i think i'm falling sick as well. been eating too much curry. i've been eating it at work AND bringing it home. its the only decent thing to eat there now. sick of the rest of the food liao. but hey! its free food...what can i say? ^_^

its gonna be a busy weekend la..sort of. i'm gonna be working from 9-3 tomorrow. and sunday, we'r going wollongong with ken & betty. dunno if feihai is coming along. hes been glued to warcraft ever since we persuaded him to buy it :) heres hoping for a good weekend.

ooo.. i like it when I receive an email like this:

Hi Nickey

Your CV looks good. Please give me a call to schedule
an interview asap.

My number is:xxxx-xxxx

Thanks

its for a job that I applied earlier today. Its a webmaster/online administrator position for an online marketing company. It doesn't sound like much fun... but it says I'll have 2 minions :)

"Managing 1-2 staff who capture data for the website"

nice! heheheh. it sounds like a pretty simple job la... I'll probably get sick of it fast. No real programming involved, but it sounds like a good opp for me to learn about websites in a commercial setting. And it sorta sounds ok on a resume as well. The pay that they put up doesn't sound like much to me. "up to" $38K p.a. Fineee..its a huge improvement over Fa*co $32.5K and what I get currently, but Accenture pays $48K++ o_O But then again...thats already a bye bye story.

Anyway, gonna give them a ring tomorrow. see how it goes. wish me loads of luck!

ugh...i smell of pool. that's POOL.. with an L at the end, not poo :p But i'm too lazy to bring shampoo and whatnot to the changing room downstairs. The water heater still hasn't been fixed, so I went to soak in the spa just now. SOoooooo relaxing. I just want to fall asleep now.

I was really bored in the afternoon yesterday, so I felt like making a cocktail. But then it was only 2pm in the afternoon, and I was suppose to have training at night. I guess getting alcohol in my system so early isn't such a good idea (see! i'm not an alcoholic)

Instead.. i made it after we skipped training :)

Margarita

Apparently, a good margarita is made with a ratio of 3:2:1. The ingredients being tequila, triple sec and lime juice. A good cocktail is only as good as its worst ingrediet, so you should use Cointreau and REAL lime juice (not the cordial shit). If you replace the Cointreau with Grand Marnier, you'd get a Grand Margarita (i think thats the name). You just need to add more lime juice (roughly double?) to balance out the sweetness. Enjoy!

our water heater died!! started leaking...so theres no hot water at home until it gets fixed o_O Means I won't be taking shower at home for the next few days. Can't stand cold showers...and its especially cold here. The bright side of this is... I just went to swim just now. Cuz I can shower in the changing room :) Heheheh. Kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Maybe I can continue with the rhytm. Try to swim again tomorrow, or maybe after kickboxing tonight.

good news... i got called in for a trial shift at Shark Hotel! Yayy! Finally get to work at a proper bar :) But it seems like the place is a dive... according to an online reviewer anyway. I haven't been in there when its packed, so don't really know whats the crowd like. Apparently lots of viets during the weekends? Not much ppl during the day... and the only ppl who would go to a bar during the day are aussies. I don't mind the place much though, cuz their bar is pretty spacious and they keep their pokies room separate. Both plus'es in my book ^_^ I start at 7pm, on Friday... not the best time to start, since its a Friday... but I should be able to manage kuaa o_O

i guess its about time for a post. just killing some time b4 I leave for work la. don't feel like playing warcraft, and don't have anime to watche either. I just finished dloading one of BoA's albums though. I think its called Next World. Omg... theres Westlife in it o_O Shock.. Definitely not my kind of music. Should just give up on pretty faced singers :)

Don't really have a plan for what I'm going to do for the next few weeks. I ordered the .NET books from Amazon, well... Thos did anyway. I still don't have a credit card. I think its going to take roughly 3 weeks to come. But its loads cheaper than buying from a bookstore here. US$30 on Amazon, compared with $50 at Kino. And I'd have to order it in if I were to buy from Kino anyway. So until the books come, don't have much to do. Apart from the webstore I'm supposed to be working on for the past year :p I've been working out the database & layout on paper during my free time (i.e non Anime & Warcraft time), so it shouldn't take too long for me to code it up.

I'm still not sure whether studying .NET is worth it for me, but too lazy to think about it la. Study first, think later :p Its good for my resume anyway, and I need something to get my brain working again. I think its been idle for too long. Its hard for me to concentrate on things now. I've been doing simple work for too long. A simpleass desk job last year, and bartending/waitering for the past 3 months. Sorta hard to believe that its been so long. Warcraft makes the time feel so much shorter. Heheheh.

oh! BoA's Jewel song not bad. The only decent song from this whole album. The rest of them are like background toilet music standard.

Thursday, May 12, 2005

I'm skipping training today. Leg still hurts :p Well... I'm using that as an excuse anyway. But I think I should rest it properly. The same thing happened about 2 weeks ago. Same area too... don't really want to push it la, my body has enough problems as it is. My knee still bothers me occasionally but its not so bad now... i think. Might be just cuz I take Nurofen pretty often. I'm eating them like vitamins o_O doubt thats good for me. But its not like doctor's can give me any other advice, unless I go for a MRI screening, but I can't be stuffed at the moment.

Haven't been doing much today. The usual dose of anime and warcraft. I was looking into the .NET certification stuff as well. I'm gonna do it self study through books. Shouldn't be that hard for me I guess... as long as I get the studying done. Its a hell lot cheaper than doing a course, and less stressful as well. Plus the point that I hardly ever pay attention during classes :p I just need to buy the books, probably going to do that through Amazon. Buying stuff from US seems really cheap now, since the US/AU rates are quite good.

Anyways..got more research to do. blog later

kickboxing owned me today. i threw a low kick and then collapsed after that o_O my right shin leg fully cramped up and i couldn't walk for a while. aihs. must warm up properly next time. at least it happened near the end of training, so didn't miss out on much (which could be good or bad...depending on whichever view you wanna take)

neway, it felt like a productive day for me, even though I didn't do much. Woke up, had brekkie n stuff. Watched some anime and then I went down to the city. I applied for work at Shark Hotel (another bar). Hopefully I get it...but they have tonnes of other applicants (figures...). After that I spent some time in Kino looking at books, and not just manga this time around :)

I'm thinking of picking up another computer book. Something to do with PHP/mySQL development. Theres plenty of resources and stuff on the net, but nothing beats having a book for reference. I shouldn't be a cheapass and balk at the costs of these books. Have to think about my future (about time huh?). Another book that I want to pick up is on marketing. 'Purple Cow' by Seth Godin. Its quite nice to read. Some interesting concepts in it.

I'm off to rest up la..Thos is probably gonna take over my com soon to play warcraft.

fatty found something good on the net. Powerpuff Girls doujinshi (manga created by fans). It has lots of Cartoon Network characters in it :) I usually don't like cartoons other than anime, but I do watch CN stuff back in KL. Dexter's Lab and Powerpuff Girls. Awfully cute. Anyway, I think this doujinshi is pretty good. I like the art, better than the originals imo ^_^

I haven't been blogging much lately. And no..its not because of WoW. I didn't play that for the past 2 days... but then its cuz I was worked double shifts yesterday. I didn't even play Guild Wars, which I got off Fatty couple days ago. Its another game like WoW, but with no monthly fees and really good graphics. I'm lazy to start it at the moment... and a little scared too. I don't want to lose days of my time grinding at another game, especially since I slowed down in playing WoW

Then again, its not like I've been using my time productively. I spend my time ODing on anime anyway. I recently started watching Prince of Tennis. Theres about 148 eps to download so far... and I'm already halfway through that. At least I'm gonna start up my web design work again. Gonna try build up a proper portfolio. I bought a book over the weekend on CSS. Aihs... textbooks are so expensive. Good thing theres a 20% discount on computer books at Kino. I wonder if theres anywhere else I can buy cheap computer books.

Other news... Thos been looking for pet rats the past weeks or so. So I've been tagging along to pet shops n stuff. We've been trying to find 2 females that have some colour on them, but no luck yet. Can't wait till Thos can get them. I wanna put them in their exercise ball and see them zoom around the house ^_^
