Sunday was nice and relaxing. There was very light rain outside. The kind that sorta feels like sea spray ^_^ Rather refreshing. I spent most of the day puttering about the house cleaning up & just watching anime. Nice! Heehehe.

Tho's brought back a cookbook from his grandma. Thos & cookbook? I'm like 'what the?!' until I saw the title.

Guess whats the keyword? ^_^

Its a pretty old cookbook. B4 all that low-carb, low-fat crap came about. I flipped it open and what do I see?

Cheese Fondue...

Cheesy Stuffed Aubergines...

Macaroni Cheese...

and Cheesy Pancakes!

So yeah... a cookbook with 7-8 recipes consecutively saying Cheesy-something would attract Tho's attention.... and mine :p

Next up... Andy's dad is down in Sydney. We got treated to a buffet dinner at Star City. It was just me, Thos & Andy though. His dad went somewhere more posh for dinner :p Didn't really take much pictures at the dinner. Too busy stuffing my face :p I think my stomach shrunk. Can't eat as much anymore *Horror* I only had 2 helpings of the main dishes o_O The dessert killed me though. I think I had too much cream... it ended up with me going to the restroom n puking. And after that I ate some more..... o_O

I was just kidding about the eating more part :p My life ain't exactly a greek orgy. Eat, drink, sex, eat & drink more, puke, and then repeat. Hmmmmm... that sounds very familiar actually.... without the sex part :p Oh. Andy mentioned a film that does just that. Caligula. Its an 80s flick. Introduced by Kar Weng during high school days. Tsk tsk tsk.

Don't know what to do... hrmmm. I think all these days of just staying home is getting to me. Running out of stuff that I want to do. I guess I should try to land a job by the end of next week liao. Gotta start looking harder instead of what I've been doing.

In the meantime...more pictures!! Ermmm... these are from Circular Quay, when I went down to the city to job hunt last week. Or was that 2 weeks ago? Hmmmm. Lost track of time liao.

Touristy stuff... Opera House

Harbour Bridge...and

The Sapphire Princess. Huge yeah? I think the smaller boat is a Captain Cook Cruise Boat.

and the girl that I thought was absolutely gorgeous ^_^

Pity you can't tell from the photos

and a seagull that landed right next to me o_O

I got thos & my computer linked up... which mean pictures!! yayyy!! I've got nothing much to write today anyway... since I just woke up. Oh! I finished FF yesterday though ^_^ and I'm replaying it again. Addicted liao... o_O

Anyway... pictures from when I moved in here & my new home:

Order...

within chaos?

Tho's new room

"Whattt?! I haven't packed only mahh"

And after several hours, that mess is transformed into ...

My new room!!

I have a built in robe!! Its actually smaller than it looks. Can only use 3/4 of it. The wall is diagonal on the right side o_O Stoopid design

Still using my old bed :) Threw away the legs though.

And a close up... for guy's benefit :)

Kla... thats it for now. Got more pictures that I wanna put up. Save them for another post. I'm gonna go swim now.

Its been a pretty good day. I'm getting paid $120 for showing up at Favco, wiggling a power cable and pressing the power button and tada! Computer fixed! :) I love my current state of employment. Heheheheh. $120 for a minute of work has gotta be the best kind of work there is, apart from being a porn star.

I did take 2 1/2 hours to get to work though... thats why the $120, cuz I'm being paid for travel time too. But thats sorta my reading time, so its win-win for me :)

As for the rest of my day... I might just lame around the house. Still got FF to play :) At the moment trying to determine if Tho's network card is kaput. I brought my network cable to work and checked it out. No probs with that, so i reckon the problem lies with Tho's computer.

Laterz..

Wednesday, January 26, 2005

its a public holiday...and I ain't doing nothing but playing FF :p I should be out in the city job hunting though. Oh well :) I'm working tomorrow anyway. Favco called me in again. There were a couple of power outages at the company after I left on Monday...and I think it might have fried a couple of the computers. The IT guy is on holiday as well till Monday, so I gotta go in and fix the computers.

I actually like working like this... just 2-3 days a week. It would be absolutely perfect if its consistent work and I get paid alot :) $20 an hour ain't too bad. And currently I'm actually charging Favco for my travel time as well.. so its $80 even if I go in for 5 minutes. Hehehehe. Gotta love that!

I'm thinking what to do for the rest of the day. Thos is seeing Big Day Out. Not my kind of scene, so I never bothered. Don't know what Andy is doing though. I still need to go for a swim later. And then mebbe just surf online and check out cars and/or bikes. Or mebbe just play FF till tomorrow morning :p Shoulder is feeling abit fucked though... probably from sitting down too long, so might just take it easy today.

Tuesday, January 25, 2005

i'm back to being unemployed today. stayed up late last night playing FF. woke up this morning and played more FF :) I went for a swim as well... feel abit ickified now cuz i gulped a mouthful of stale poolwater *blechh* I think I should go back on my South Beach diet. Haven't been losing any weight since I stopped... but I guess eating brownie cheesecake for breakfast isn't gonna help :) At least I'm not gaining weight. heheheh

Ooooo. Speaking on weight loss. U guys know of a program called the Biggest Loser. Weight loss reality TV! Hahhaha. What will they think of next? It happens to be Tho's favourite program now. Mebbe he has fetish for fat ppl :p Hahahhahah. Oh yeahh... don't click on the link if you don't wanna know the results. Its already finished airing in the states.

Ermmmm. Tomorrow is Australia Day, but got no plans. Probably just lame at home n play FF :) I'll start looking for work again on Thursday. Thos gonna go K tonite with his colleagues, but I'm too lazy to tag along. Maybe I'll go drinking with Andy if he doesn't have plans. Or mebbe not... should save money since I'm unemployed :p

Hmmm.. What else ? I'm a little peeved now. I installed a network card in Thos computer... if not I'll have to wait till the end of days b4 it happens :p But it doesn't bloody work! Well...the card works, I think. But the cable doesn't. Then again... I already tested the cable at work b4 bringing it home (got the main IT guy at work to make a 15m long one for me ^_^) What a pain... so still no pictures! I feel a little deprived at being unable to share my pictures. Ughh..

Monday, January 24, 2005

ho hum... I'm being paid $20 an hour to stare at the screen while surfing the net and chatting on MSN :) Heheheh. How fun. I'm at work longer than expected today. I was supposed to come in just to troubleshoot one of the computers that I set up on Friday. Fixed that within 3 minutes....and thats $100 liao. ^_^ Cuz I'm clocking my travel time as well... which is 4 hours to and fro. Being a casual worker is pretty good.

So far I've been here 3 hours plus la. Recycling some of the older computers. Gotta reformat and then reinstall the programs. Simple task... but bloody time consuming. Took me 2 hours just to do one computer. I'm being paid...so don't really care. But I wanna go home and play Final Fantasy X-II. Started playing that last night. Thats gonna be 30 hours down the pot :p

What else? Oh. I've been reading "Awaken the Giant Within" by Anthony Robbins. Pinched it from Thos. I kinda like these self-help/motivational books. Interesting enough to read. It's not exactly very inspiring for me... but I like to read it anyway. The ideas in his book are pretty basic, very 'mind over matter' stuff. I'm only about 1/3 through the book... but haven't read anything in his book that I don't know already. I guess thats probably why I'm not exactly motivated by it. I never really practiced any of the stuff that I get from these books, except maybe "Don't sweat the small stuff". I guess I should...since 'successful' ppl do it. But I'm sorta happy the way I am now. Do what I want kinda thing, at least trying to :p

I think I should start being more worried about getting a job soon. I have enough savings to last being unemployed for another 3-4 months. Now that I think about it... thats not an awful lot of time. And its quite a waste of my savings.

lessee. It was Andy's birthday last Thursday. Didn't do much. Me n Thos treated him dinner at Tengoku. Didn't really take pictures of the food cuz we had pretty much the same stuff. Unagi, sushi, sashimi, fried salmon and agedashi tofu. All pretty excellent as usual!

Krispy Kreme came later that night. And Thos caught the attention of an indian ah por working at the counter. Winking and smiling away at him. Thos is quite the ladies man. Hahaahhah

That was all on Friday. Saturday ermmm... nothing much happened. Thos had to do some house hunting in the morning. So he was quite bummed out the rest of the day. Me n Andy did some swimming and watched the special features on the Troy DVD he got...and just spazzed with the PS2 for most part of the day.

As for today.... its a nice lazy day. It rained in the morning and its still nice n gloomy at 4 in the arvo. Cool breeze n stuff. Love it! Makes me feel like doing nothing at all... not that I do anything productive neway :) Thos actually packed up the house as well. Looks so nice n neat outside.

I don't know what to do at the moment... so just decided to blog abit. Nothin really interestin to post about. I did go back to Favco on Friday though. Think I mentioned that earlier... gonna go back tomorrow as well. Being paid casual rates...which is just 20% extra. Still feels kinda crappy, although its $20/hour now. I'm gonna include my travel time when I go tomorrow though. Its still an hour to get there using Tho's bike. Using public transport would probably make it 2 hours. Ughh....

I feel like I'm leading such a healthy lifestyle now. Well... not quite there yet la. But soon... maybe :p

My new routine is: Waking up at about 9-ish, eat some yoghurt, brush my teeth and then go for a swim. We don't have a very big pool though. Its around.. 10 metres maybe? I do about 10 laps b4 I get lazy, and then I go cook myself in the steam room for about 10 minutes.

Nice ya? Of course...I can only do this cuz I'm unemployed at the moment ^_^ I've sorta got until March to bum around cuz thats when most MNC graduate programs open up. I'm still aiming for that... if I don't get anything this time around, then I'm gonna be a lost soul :p

.....

*Burp* I just made myself a nice bacon and egg breakfast, so much for healthy lifestyle ^_^ Hmmm, I think Tho's speakers are kinda crap now. Been blasting them too much. Alot of static coming through. Anywayz, back to me :p I was supposed to go in to Favco today, to help set up the new computers and hook them up to the network etc etc. I haven't received another call from the GM, so I assume they don't need me today :) I'm gonna spend the rest of my day reading. Maybe go to the beach with Andy, since he is getting 2 days off as well. It's his birthday today as well... so better remember to wish him.

Where was I earlier? Oh yeah. The graduate program thing. For one thing, I'm not like super keen to get in. Its just that if I do, its a great learning oppportunity. The whole corporate scene thing isn't all that great. Some make it to the top and make big bucks. The CEOs, senior management and whatnot. But everyone else are just bottom feeder, or just burn out b4 they even get anywhere. An exaggeration...but probably not far from the truth.

And honestly... the money isn't exactly great either (especially if you are just average) A garbage collector in sydney can earn $100,000 per annum. Think you can top that? And thats aussie dollars as well. Makes you think going to uni is kinda pointless huh? In a way uni has been pretty useless for a while, 'cept maybe for occupations that are more academics based, like medicine or law. Theres actually an article in Times that mentioned this. University degrees are worth less (not worthless, yet) now because of the amount of ppl going thru uni.

Unis don't give you much practical knowledge, which is the only thing thats important when you go out to work. I can say for sure I didn't :p at least not based on the work that I got from uni. If I really wanted to be good at computers & programming, I'd have to learn everything by myself. Which kinda defeats the purpose of going to uni o_O

Hmmmm... I must be really bored to have blogged so much. Anyways... I think I don't want to be a 'proper' adult yet. So I'll do all the bartending and mucking around I want :) Hows that for ambition? :p

*edit*
the $100,000 p.a. salary for a garbo is inclusive of their overtime and stuff. I THINK their base salary is about $50,000 for a 20 hour week. Still a shitload of money for collecting rubbish.

I went down city to do some job hunting today. No luck with that yet :( I only asked around at about 3-4 bars though. Got kinda lazy after that because did alot of walking :p hehehehe

But all of them weren't hiring at the moment. Sux big time. I only went along George Street though. Dropped my resume at some them. See how it goes la. I'm not in a big rush anyway. Enjoying my time off working life :)

B4 all that...I met up with Thos for lunch. I got him to pinch some sheet protectors for me :) To put all my resume paperwork in. Heheheh. Too lazy to buy, and I forgot to get some from Favco when I left :p

I was down in the city an hour earlier though, so I did some sightseeing in Circular Quay. The Sapphire Princess was there. Huge ass ship. I overheard someone saying its bigger than the Titanic. I took some pictures of that, the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge ^_^ So tourist! Heheheh

And most importantly... I saw a reallly cute girl working at a restaurant place near the opera house ^_^ Maybe I should be a waiter instead of a bartender :) I took pictures too!! Pity they weren't all that clear. Now I'm really glad I bought a camera with zoom. Can't tell where shes from though. She's asian... but wouldn't know if shes local or watever.

Oh yeah... I'm not posting up pics yet. Cuz I'm still using Tho's computer. Too bad if u'r expecting to see a pic of the girl :p

i'm officially unemployed now!! how fun! I get to sleep in without feeling guilty tomorrow. Not that I really feel guilty when I get to work late neway :p

Thos let me ride his bike to work today. Long ride = sore bum. But it still feels good la. Riding a bike, not the sore bum :p Its been a while since I got to ride a bike. Still great to do it...even though Sydney roads are really quite crap. Bumpy roads and potholes. Not very fun.

My last day at work...was still busy. Thought I could be more slack, but ended up having more stuff to do cuz gotta tie up all the loose ends and following up some orders. At least I don't have to do that anymore! ^_^ Oooo. And my boss gave me $50 too! As a thank you present. And I got treated lunch on Monday & today as well. I should leave work more often :)

Anyhoo. I want to post up some pictures, but haven't networked the computers yet. At least I pinched a 15m network cable from work :) Don't have to buy. Heheheh. Thos is watching Wong Fei Hong outside...and his room is getting kinda warm, so I'm gonna go back to my own room and play games.

Tuesday, January 11, 2005

1 more day of work!! yeahhh. unemployment has never been such a happy prospect ^_^ Well... I probably won't feel that way if I can't get work for a couple of months :p but I'm sure things will work out

I haven't been bloggin lately...cuz I don't have internet at home.. NOoooooo. All the anime n games I could be downloading. Thos has internet at home but its *cough* dial-up *cough* Still useable, but I've just been lazy to go over to his computer to upload pictures and stuff. I wanna show off my brand new room to the world! So nice and neat. Along with a poster of a half naked Bai Ling that greets you the moment you walk in ^_^

I've been eating some cereal for brekkie lately (well..yesterday and today). Its rather insubstantial. I can't imagine how ppl can just eat that... and last till lunch. I get hungry 2 hours later. And thats eating cereal and some yoghurt. I think I'll stick to my omelette next time.

Hmmm... its abit tough to blog without being interrupted at work :p Not that I should be blogging ^_^ Thats it for now then. Pictures soon!

Friday, January 07, 2005

i'm at work reallll early today. its only 7am! Its so nice having a car ^_^ well.. not having one per se, but I've been using the company deathtrap. Very dodgy car. Squeaks when you make a turn, o_O ,but its been getting me around since the Xmas period. I think I was suppose to give back the keys on Tuesday... but I'm hanging on the car till someone complains. Hehehe. Really handy having it around. I've been using it to move my stuff over to Jeremys everyday :)

I was thinking yesterday that I'm gonna buy a bike, instead of a scooter or a car. If I could afford it... I'd get a car, but I don't. I'm probably gonna change my mind a week from now... but what the hell.

1) its cheaper than maintaining a car (not by much actually... sending it for repairs feels like it costs about as much as a car). Slightly less petrol, finding parking is easier but that might not apply in Sydney CBD. It seems like I can't just park my bike on any curb like I did in Melbourne.

2) I can get a car for the same amount of money I'll put in for a bike. But its never ever gonna be as good. I'll only be able to afford a shitbox car, but I can get crotch rocket if i get a bike :)

3) On my list of 'things I want to do', I've always wanted to tour around Australia on my bike and take pics of it in all the scenic places. Now that I have a camera, I just need a bike :)

4) Maybe it can get me another girlfriend ;) some of you guys would know what I'm talking about ^_^

5) Can't type any more reasons... got work to do liao

Wednesday, January 05, 2005

i'm at work and i'm bludging big time. blogging while having a cup of tea. how much more unproductive can I get? I didn't blog yesterday... so this was to make up for it. But I don't know what to write now o_O

I've moved mebbe 2/3rds of my stuff over to Jeremy's already, but it still looks like I have alot of crap to pack. Probably cuz my stuff is strewn everywhere. I've been really lazy to keep things in order ever since i was gonna move. I still gotta find a removalist to move the big stuff over. I found the number of one guy that I used when I bought the fridge & washer from Yen. Hopefully he is still available.

I have exactly another week b4 my unemployment!! How exciting! Heheheh. Its kinda why I'm feeling pretty lazy to do stuff around here now. But its not like I get any respite even though I'm leaving. In fact, I have alot more crap on my hands to do. Gonna have to write up a summary of all the stuff I ordered for the cranes in the past 2 months or so, and then expedite the items that aren't here yet... and thats fricking alot!!!

Really hate doing that though. Its bloody irritating. Things that should be here but they aren't. Things that are here but went missing (which means I have to find it... or re-order it). Things that are here but never got recorded, so we think they are not here. The list never ends. Its my main bitch about how things get done here. And the cause is mainly cuz things are done manually here. I reckon at least 75% of the work done in regards to purchasing can be cut down if we had a computerised system. Probably more. Give me a budget and authority and I can bloody save the company heaps and make it hell more efficient. And I'm not blowing my own horn... its mainly cuz the way things are done here are so archaic, its bloody easy to improve :p

I was actually offered to do that though, if I wanted to continue working here. The GM would have gotten me to get our computerised system up and running (We do have one, just that its not being used properly and its pretty crap imo) But I couldn't be stuffed staying here la. Cuz its still uncertain when he wants to move ahead with that, its just that eventually he wants too. Oh well... if i'm desperate and I need a job next time, I can always come back here :p

Err.... think I better stop bludgin... I mean blogging here la. Feeling guilty about not doing work liao :p

Monday, January 03, 2005

Hmmmm. I can't quite recall what I've been doing the past couple of days. Oh yeah. Moving stuff over to my new home! I think only about 1/4 of my stuff left, and the oversized crap which i need to get a ute to move.

Lessee now... it felt like we greeded alot yesterday. Andy came over to my place to do some asian grocery shopping (which just means 3 boxes of instant noodles o_O) and leech stuff off my internet. I had a car over the new year period (company!) so he made use of the opportunity to do some bulk shopping :p Anyway... it was pretty expensive shopping experience for him, cuz he forgot his keys and got locked out of his apartment. $120 bucks just to get the door open today. Ouch! Public holiday rates too.

I'm pretty bummed out today. Didn't get much sleep, its pretty hot out and I've got to work tomorrow. Ughh... It's been such a nice holiday period. I want the next christmas period to come nowwwwwww!!!!!

Saturday, January 01, 2005

It's a brand new year ahead of us! How was everybody's eve? Heard about the cancellations back home in KL... so no fireworks for you guys back there. I suppose in a way, it isn't exactly the best time to be celebrating. But then again... its all the more reason to celebrate! For our family and friends that were safe from the tsunami disaster, and also bring a modicum of cheer to those affected by the tsunami (although that's an arguable point o_O)

Anyway... I must say that 2004 hasn't been all that wonderful. I've had my fair share of ups and downs... life ain't exactly a bed of roses for me, but all I can do is roll with the flow :) '04 also marks a few significant changes in my life. There's so many things that I feel like recapping but that would probably make for a rather long post that drones on and on and on and on and on.... :p

The most obvious change is that I've moved from Melbourne to Sydney, as well as making my foray in the world of white-collar workers. And January 2005 would see me scrapping all that and becoming a full-time bartender ^_^, but that's another story.
I'm living by myself, and supporting myself fully, which is great! I love my total independance (sort of anyway...) although it comes with it's own sets of pros & cons. I need to consider adult worries such as putting siu yuk on my table, paying my bills and what-not. But then again, in a worst-case scenario, I could always just go back to my parents like so many ppl do :p

Goals I've achieved this year? Not a whole lot actually. I did manage to start kendo, like I promised myself, but I've had to stop it due to injuries o_O I bought myself a digital camera as well, which was something I've been hankered for eons. I've had several ideas (business and otherwise) over the year, but had to shelf most of them away because they were impracticable at this point of my life. Who knows? Maybe something will turn up this year ^_^

Emmmm... I think I shall take a short break from my reflection period and put up some pics ^_^ It seems to be getting rather long :p I didn't take alot of picture cuz I wanted to take a movie of the fireworks. I'm quite dissappointed actually. Not with the fireworks, they were pretty awesome. I bloody forgot my tripod, so it was almost impossible to do any night shots. And we a got a great spot to watch fireworks from. And without the huge crowds as well! Anyway, without further adieu:

Sydney, from the Balmain waterfront. I really wanted to take more shots of it but it was just too difficult. 90% of the pics turned out blurry

Andy supposedly posing in front of the portaloos o_O We really needed to pee, but after standing behind the queue, we decided to go drown some bushes instead. Ppl were coming out of the portaloos looking really pale and exclamations of "Jesus Christ!", "Oh my god!!" and "Fuckin hell!.." can be heard. It seems that one can have encounters with the divine in a portaloo :p

Wondering what to do after watching the prelim fireworks. The dude on the left is Andy's cousin, Paul (i think :p)

Oh yeahhh! Long legged blonde beauty! One of the main reasons I regret not bringing a friggin tripod. Could have taken a much nicer picture *fapfapfap*

Jez stoning while waiting for the main event
