back from kangaroo valley, and i'm back at work too /cry. its not too bad though. i'm in only for a couple of hours, but i haven't been doing much since i came in apart from reading http://www.ctrlaltdel-online.com/, which was what I've been doing the past week at work. i've read about 2 years worth of comics. not bad huh?

i don't have any pics of the trip yet, my camera is fucked. have to ask swee fong to bring it back to KL for me, hopefully it won't be too expensive to fix. its just the stupid power button thats stuffing up. I'll upload some pics when I get them from fongie. i'll blog about the trip the same time i post the pictures la, lazy to do it twice.

aihs. i want to go home. not doing anything productive at work. the manager hasn't come in yet, so I can't even set up the new accounting system for him. think i'll leave at lunchtime if he doesn't come in.

nice and simple, merry xmas to all!

wanna know how to write backwards? take a writing pad and just write on the other side.
don't think about it, else you'll just get confused. try it out.

its been extremely hard for me to get out of bed lately. i literally have to force myself to fall out of bed in order to wake. dunno why. i've been getting plenty of sleep i think. possibly my diet. what you eat really affects your body. when i did atkins and south beach, i did notice that i feel more energised in the morning. not that i really kept to the diet. max was about 3 weeks i think. the only thing i've stopped eating is bread at home. i feel that its too easy to eat a lot of it, cause you get hungry fast even though u ate a lot. kinda like porridge.

went for dinner with Andy last night. ashfield again. had like the best dumplings i've ever eaten. dumplings that are actually juicy. bloody good. and the place is cheap too. so its doubly good :) the english name is Shanghai Nights... i think. I just remember that it was a dodgy name la. after dinner, we went to watch King Kong with Jeremy, Ken and a whole bunch of other ppl. From Ken's badminton club. I reckon Kong was good. One of the better movies out this year. I feel that its better than LoTR though. Some parts of LoTR was just kinda gay. Anyway, I'm lazy to say anything about the movies. I'm not a good reviewer and plenty of other sources out there.

Gonna have lunch and finish reading my book.

friday is finally here!! not that i have much to do over the weekend, but at least i don't have to work. even though its been a 4 day work week for me. and it might even be half day today. company xmas party is tonight, and a lot of ppl took off earlier last year. but its a fair bit more busy this time around. so maybe we still have to work the whole day. boo!

we got our new accounting system yesterday. pretty neat! installed it and got it running. who needs a $180/hour consultant! all i need is a user guide and google. i really should work as a consultant. get paid shitloads for doing stuff like this. easy peasy.

Arrgh. So annoying. feels like theres something stuck in my eye. can't get it out. starting to hurt. and my eye is already red from all the rubbing. not a good start to the morning. i'm walking around with one eye closed now. not that if makes much of a difference to me. my left eye is practically blind anyway. thinking of maybe doing laser eye surgery one day. maybe when i get enough money. it gets advertised over the radio fairly often. kinda scary though. theres still a chance that you can go blind, or that your eyes go cacat.

man...can't wait till xmas. holiday period ftw! tomorrow might be a unofficial half day too. cuz the company having it's xmas party. not that I'm going la. Can't be stuffed. kekeke. If there were hot chicks, then I might make the effort. Unfortunately...roughly 150 employees at the company and only 3% are female. I need to work in advertising. Or accounting. Or the porn industry.

[edit]
its payday!!! Totally forgot about it. A nice surprise. I think its damn sweet how I still get paid $3K after tax even after ditching work at least once a week :) I don't even remember OTing all that much. I had 20 hours of OT and 15 hours sick leave. So i got paid for not working too. Nice!

fatty showed me a power recipe.

1 large ripe watermelon
1 bottle of vodka

What to do: cut a hole in the top of the melon, wide & deep enough to wedge in a funnel tightly. Pour some vodka into the melon through the funnel: leave to sit for a day, then top up. Do this for a few days, keeping the melon chilled all the while until it is saturated with drink.

slice, serve and grin.

one of Jamie Oliver's recipes. Must try...

[edit]

ugh... the heat is horrible. 40 degrees. feel like passing out now. but have to go out. what a day to pick to go watch a movie. aihs. could really use some vodka watermelon now.

[edit again]

no movie to watch. kena conned by website. ish. spose to watch Elizabethtown at 8.45 but movie got cancelled or something. oh well. at least i can stay home now.

Hmmm. WoW is making me neglect my exercises again. I intended to go for a swim yesterday, but ended up going straight home to play WoW. Wanted to complete a couple of instance quests with Nic and Andy. Ended up failure. Wasted like 2-3 hours because the the other 2 persons we went with were dodgy. Not to say I did great la, but lets leave that aside :p

I don't know what to blog about, so I figure I should explain WoW a little bit. I go on about how much I play...and how much I regret playing it sometimes but I don't think I've blogged about the actual game before.

Anyway, theres a super article on it on wikipedia (duh?) Thats on the entire warcraft universe, not just WoW. All the games, books, etc etc. I'll just just give a basic of basics on WoW, since I'm blogging while I'm doing work as well. Kinda hard to maintain a proper flow of thought when I keep getting interrupted.

First of all, WoW is an MMORPG (short for massively multiplayer online role playing game). Basically means its a game that you can only play online with people all over the world. and WoW is the mother of all MMORPGs to date. 4.5 million subscribers as of November 2005. roughly US$10 a month. Thats a fuckload of money.

Oooo... someone brought cake. Continue later.

Mmm.. yum. some cherry blackforest cake thingy :p Dunno if its a good thing that I'm sitting in front of the kitchen area. Can see whenever the lady brings in cake to work. Have to skip lunch today. I think i'll start eating salads from now on. Hmmm.

Neway, back to Wow. The game is made up of 2 factions. Horde and Alliance. The 'good' guys are Alliance consisting of Humans (you and me), Dwarves (short people), Gnomes (even shorter people) and Night Elves (pretty people). The Horde made up of Tauren (cow people), Forsaken (dead people), Orcs (ugly green people) and the upcoming Blood Elves (pretty people for the Horde).

My undead warlock on an epic mount

Night Elf druid, Lulufei. Ah Fei's character

Both characters don't get play cuz we all made new characters on another server to play with Fatts and the rest.

Blood Elves will be a new addition to the game when the expansion gets released. Too many ppl were playing alliance because horde were too ugly. So they needed something to fix the imbalance. The new alliance race hasn't been decided yet.

You start the game by choosing a race you want to play and then your class or the type of character you are. Depending on the faction and race, you can be a Warrior, Priest, Rogue, Mage, Warlock, Druid, Shaman (horde only) and Paladin (alliance only).
You create your character and set off in the world, killing monsters, completing quests, saving the world that kinda thing. Theres a fair bit of stuff to do. Theres professions to choose from (engineering, blacksmithing, alchemy etc) and you can even learn fishing and cooking too.

Theres no real objective to the game. Just lvl your way to 60, collect more powerful weapons and armor, killing bigger monsters. Doesn't end until you decide to cancel your subscription :p You can solo the game for the most part, but theres a lot of stuff that you need to do as a group. You can enter dungeons called instances with party of 5 (and eventually raids of up to 40 ppl) The mobs in an instance are elite, meaning they are much stronger than a normal mob for the same level. Obviously, you get better rewards as well. After you reach 60, you'll mostly be doing instances to get better equipment and stuff. Either that or you PVP (player vs player) a whole lot. WoW has special instances called Battlegrounds (BG) where they match up horde and alliance players. You can pvp in the BGs or attack some towns or cities in the game.

Fark..wrote quite long lioa. Better start concentrating on work :p I'll put up some pics when I go back home kua. Put up some ingame screenshots or something [ed: put up some pics liao]. Make this post more interesting. Too much text can kill.

Monday, December 05, 2005

had my blog window open since i came in to work, but been too busy to write anything. its lunch time now, so got a bit of time to rant. i think i slept too much over the weekend. napped in the afternoon on both satuday and sunday. damn lazy weekend. just stayed home, played wow and read my book. i dloaded some movies to watch too. madagascar and 40 yr old virgin. heheh. too cheap to go out and rent. its cinema vcd quality though. the type where u can hear ppl laugh and see ppl walking around. should only dload movies after theres a dvd release.

what else? i think thats it. quite a sien weekend, like every other :p Now i'm thinking what I should eat. Easiest place to go is KFC. Aihs. And I wonder why I can't lose weight o_O My usual meal is a twister or fillet burger and a pack of wicked wings. $4.45 + $1.95. Reasonable meal ah. keeps me satisfied till dinner time. I'd prefer to have 3 packs of wicked wings...more chun n cheap. But then scared i kena stomachache.

i just called up MAS just now. check on airline pricing. The promotion thing ah fei told me about macam don't have liao, or he just quoted me the wrong price. If I fly b4/on the 15th of Jan its $900something. between 16th and 29th its $736 and after the 30th its $681. Tax not included of course. Tax is around $243. Almost $1k to fly back. Aihs. Dunno if its worth it. Can do a lot with that money. I think I'll take half day off tmr. Go down chinatown and see if i can scrounge a cheaper ticket. chinaman ticket agent should be cheaper kua. Anyway, earliest available flight is 21st Jan, so see how it goes.

Kla. Off to lunch.

its 1st of December. Almost end of the year liao. Feels damn fast. It doesn't feel like I've done anything useful during my time here. Especially this past year. Most of my resolutions also went down the toilet. Cis... useless me. Nvm, make brand new ones for next year ^_^ I kinda like planning and working out schedules and stuff. Did I mention that I made a timetable for myself? Not that I've really been following it. Included stuff like exercise, study and reading time. When u plan things out that way... it really feels like you don't have much time to goof around. I followed it ok in the first week I did it. But then it went down the toilet from last weekend onwards. Stupid WoW weekend :p My druid is lvl 58 now though ^_^ taking extremely long. Which is sort of a good thing. I think when I hit 60, i'm gonna be playing even more. Especially since I can finally join the rest in all the pvp and high end stuff. Aihs...

Mann... my computer at work is bloody annoying me. Have to give it a whack every 5 minutes. The power supply making a damn annoying noise. I think the fan bearings are stuffed or something. Stupid old computers... maybe I should move it to the floor. Yeah. Think I'll do that. Can get more space on my desk too.

Tuesday, November 29, 2005

i had to go to the company's computer supplier yesterday to exchange a psu unit that blew up. They had a couple of plush monitor covers on display. its basically a soft toy that wraps around your monitor. so cute! heheheh. they had a website printed on their label, but i think i wrote down the wrong one. it was sungmin.co.kr, or sunming, or something like that. can't figure it out. wanted to find some pictures of it. i tried googling, but could only turn up a cacafied product

that looks damn shitty though. the ones in the store much brighter. but anyway, i turned up something pretty cool when i was searching. i found a company called Hanspree that makes pretty cool tvs. Makes a great novelty item. The site is all flash, so I can't find any images to link.

Anyway, got to figure out what to eat for lunch. Getting a bit sick of KFC. Actually, I'm not sick of eating it, but just getting the stomachache that comes with it the next day. Must be something in their wicked wings man. I eat regular curry and stuff also no problems. Haihs... might end up going KFC to eat again though :)

Monday, November 28, 2005

i was sooooo tempted to skip work again today. slept late playing wow last night. i think i've played for around 15 hours plus over the weekend. stupid double honor weekend. makes everyone kiasu, including me. We can get twice the amount of honor and/or reputation points when we play battlegrounds in WoW. Something new they put whenever theres an American holiday. So we've been sort of playing alterac valley like sor hais. andy says it will last till tuesday, so gonna go home today and grind some more :) probably won't come to work tomorrow :)

other news, tho's godsis came down to sydney yesterday. so i tagged along when thos brought her to the pancake place at the rocks. I've been craving to eat the pancakes there for ages. but alwez lazy to make the effort to go :) i think the last time i went was almost a year ago. wow. never noticed, time really flies by. i had beef ribs, and then pancakes. bloody full after that. the pancakes were nice, but i think i was too stuffed to fully appreciate them. must go there and take pictures next time. they really look pretty good.

Ooo.. the restaurant actually has a website up. Thats the page with all the pancakes. Pity the pics are so small. but yah, still looks delicious. oh man...making me hungry liao. think i'll go for lunch now. probably kfc. hope i don't get stomachache again. oh wait, that might be a good thing. then i have a real excuse for not coming to work! yay! KFC it is then ^_^

Friday, November 25, 2005

its a relatively quiet day at work today. not a whole lot to do considering that its friday. its been more interesting at work the past few days or so. moving forward with a lot of new stuff for the company. we'r getting a new phone and internet system thats to be implemented next month. its not like i have a real say in the issue or what not, but at least i was consulted on the matter. which is sorta fun. nice change from what i usually do around here.

We started looking at ERP systems too. I think I mentioned that a couple posts ago. Its pretty interesting researching the matter and finding out information about ERP systems. Called up and talked to a consultant as well. Makes me feel important. Heheheh. I guess anything is better than doing purchasing paperwork. Wiki is fast becoming one of my favourite sites. Quite useful even when I want to research ERP systems. Not bad weii. Should have used it more often when I had to do papers in uni.

Enough about work though. I tend to blog more about work when i'm at work o_O Wonder if I should take off early today. Its only 2.45 now, but its such a "don't feel like work" day. Its been raining the whole morning, but the weather is starting to clear now. No plans for the weekend, except maybe go Kino to buy a book. Maybe go for yumcha on Sunday, and then Kino. Sounds like a good plan since we don't have anything else to do. Or might just stay home and play WoW full time. It is (or was)Thanksgiving holiday in the States, so this weekend might have double honor/reputation when you pvp. See how it goes.

Thursday, November 24, 2005

at work. feeling lazy. nothing new to shout about. i shouldn't be feeling so lazy though. i ponteng work yesterday. forgot to set my alarm and woke up at 8am. stoned for about 1/2 hour trying to decide if i should turn up for work or not. in the end, decided to just play Wow and watch anime the whole morning ^_^ how blissfully irresponsible.

I've finished reading the Cash Flow Quadrant book yesterday. Didn't glean a whole lot from it, but I suppose it makes a decent read. All it does is just reinforce ideas that I already know, and give you some rather ambigious steps to get started.

Hrm.. I better get back to work instead of thinking of something to write about. Paperwork beginning to pile up on my desk.

Monday, November 21, 2005

i'm still undecided as to whether I should go back to KL during CNY. Andy says MAS flights are really cheap if I fly past mid January. Something around $6-700 for a return flight. Problem is, I don't know what I'll be doing back home apart from holidaying and spending money. It would be nice... but I won't be working which equals even less money. Aihs. Maybe I shouldn't think about holidaying until I'm rich. Aihs.

workwise, i've mentioned that my contract ends in mid january. after that, i can choose to stay on at the company, but i don't want to be doing purchasing anymore. maybe 2-3 days a week is okay kua. the company will be doing an overhaul of their systems next year. modernise the whole company and how we do things, supposedly. We'r gonna be getting some form of ERP system in to handle at the very least the accounting, purchasing and payroll side of things. And how does this relate to me? I might be put in charge ^_^ cool huh? well.. i don't know how true that will be, or the extent of my authority. Most likely i'll oversee the project, make recommendation etc etc. If it works out that way, it'll be something really good to put on my CV. BUT... its all hot air at the moment. See how it goes.

Saturday, November 19, 2005

cis... this Thos worried me a little last night and this morning. Didn't come home last night, and this morning was still missing. couldn't call his hp summore. Was thinking to myself "oh no! did he kaput in an accident? shit...need to find someone else to pay rent."

Anyway. i even went downstairs this morn to check if his car was around. it might be time to really get worried if it was. But then i realised halfway that he had grading at some karate camp this weekend. cis.

Thursday, November 17, 2005

Lunchtime at work...and I dunno what to eat. It used to be a pretty easy choice when I didn't have a car. I'd just buy a burger at the station and have that for lunch. $3.60 for lunch. Nice and cheap. And it sorts of lasts me till dinner time :p But I haven't been bringing any food to work lately, so i've been eating a fair bit of KFC. Nothing much else to eat...except for McDs, Subway, Hungry Jacks and a chinese place that we go to every week. Everything else around here is pretty crap. Aihs... wish I worked in Chinatown. Plenty of stuff to eat, and girls to watch ^_^

I think i'll just end up eating KFC again. Just waiting till I get hungry b4 I go off to lunch, which is usually when everyone else isn't at lunch :) its quite nice to have such a flexible workplace. Or maybe its just me.

Nothing new to blog. I had dinner with Farah at Tengoku last night. Farah is my godsis if I haven't mentioned it before. Thos was spose to come along originally, but then he decided to stay home so he could play WoW o_O Food was good as always, but the seaweed used on the california roll not crispy, so that was the only substandard thing last night.

Thats about it I guess... gonna head for lunch now

Tuesday, November 15, 2005

its fairly quiet at work today cuz theres this huge strike protesting the new industrial relations law going on. so i think theres only like 4 ppl in the factory, 2 of them being apprentices. the ppl in the office still have to work though, which means me :`( Sometimes it sucks not being a union. Some of these blue collar workers actually do much better than those with office jobs. Ah well... I guess it only happens in Australia.

Hrm..feel lazy to work and blog at the same time la. Nothing much to say anyway. Feel like going home early tonight.

Friday, November 11, 2005

I've been listening to the radio every morning now that I drive to work. Just heard something that kinda amused me. I usually listen to the breakfast show on Today FM. Kyle and Jackie 'O' (or something like that). They make a good combination, quite funny and they have good radio voices. Anyway, the station's big thing at the moment is their gay news reader's wedding. His partner came on air a couple weeks ago and proposed to him. Obviously accepted la... and its a pretty popular event. Alot of listener's wanna get invited to the wedding etc etc. Excellent marketing material for a radio station.

Anyway, they were discussing what to do for the wedding (one of the djs, Jackie, is a/the wedding planner) and taking ideas from callers. The groom/bride wanted to release a dove at the wedding. Romantic but rather cliche and it could backfire too. Jackie mentioned that she knows of this wedding where the couple wanted to release a dove too. They had a little girl carry it, and when the time came, she threw the bird in the air...and the dove went *plop* on the ground o_O

The girl was holding the bird too tightly and killed it. Not the best thing to happen at a wedding. The whole event would be quite amusing... in a funny, horrible kind of way ^_^

Thursday, November 10, 2005

i'm at work rather early. 8am, as opposed to my usual 9.30-9.45am Quite a good improvemen huh? The wonders having a car can provide. I wake up a little later nowadays. 6.30am, used to wake up at 6 or 6.15 leddat. Didn't feel like mucking around at home, so might as well come in to work and bludge while getting paid ^_^

For some reason... I was thinking that last night was Thursday, and that it was a Friday today. I was so dissappointed when I realised its only Thursday this morning. Aihs... Not that I have anything to look forward to during the weekends. Just wanna finish up a book that I bought. Cash Flow Quadrant. Hehehe. Starting to read all these type of books again. Better than reading novels imo. I get enough fiction from all the anime that I watch. The next book I might read is "Millionaire Next Door" by Thomas Stanley. I still want to get the property books by Steve McKnight though... he has 2 books out, but apparently theres some conflict between the ideas behind his 1st and 2nd book. Might still be worth a read. Its a good place to start at any rate.

Hmm...starting to feel a little guilty about not doing work. Heheh. Better find something to do. More later...

Tuesday, November 08, 2005

I wonder if it is just me. Aren't guys supposed to be the womaniser/philanderer/playboy when it comes to affairs of the heart? You see or hear of this a lot in movies, books and other forms of literature. Boy meets girl. Boy and girl falls in love. Boy meets another. Boy dumps girl A for girl B (or for some, dates both of them). That standard fare ain't it?

My own relations seem to dictate otherwise. I use relation in the sense of me and my friends. For some reason, I feel like I know more guys getting dumped by girls or getting their hearts trampled on by the fairer sex. I'm just blogging this because I just found out a couple that I've always known as a couple have split up. I can't name names...but suffice to say, they've been together for a period of time that I can't imagine. The cause? A long distance relationship that was going on fine until... the girl met another guy who she has a good feel with (on an emotional level, not physical...as far as I know). He found out, quite by accident, they talked and decided to break up. It seems they are still on good terms with each other, and I'm sincerely hoping they get back together... don't know why, but they just make a good couple.

Thats just the latest event that led me to blog this. Another super long relationship that I know of (lets say... at LEAST 6-8 yrs) also broke off. Why? Because the girl had a wandering eye for some guy at her company (same thing happened for the above. Man... how come I can't find love at the workplace?!?) I'm not sure of the details... but I think she was cheating on him both physically n emotionally. THINK being the operative word. He found out partly by accident and thorough some dubious and illegal means (think of phone tapping, phone network hacking. very CIA stuff ^_^) He isn't too proud of himself, but at least he does it with style :p

oh. in case u'r wondering. these blokes are pretty cool. good to their gf's. take care of them. all that jazz. definitely didn't do anything that 'deserved' dumping. unlike me ^_^

Yet again, the girl was at fault. I'm pretty sure I know another 2 or 3 relationships that are similar, but can't recall them for some reason. Even Jacq found another guy relatively quick after breaking it off with me. Althought that point isn't entirely true to the topic of this post, and its also due to my own inability to meet other girls (attributed to my unwillingness to socialise as well. vicious cycle. my favourite phrase)

Anyhoo...enough of this. Getting me down thinking of relationships and the lack of it in my own life. Just a note, the 2nd friend I mentioned got back together with the girl. Decided to forgive and forget. See! Such a big hearted person. Women = Evil. Meh
aihs. I think i'm fucked... in terms of a career in software development. Its just been too long since I've actually completed a program or database. Have to bloody relearn everything.

but ermm..blog about it abit later. i'm actually spose to be working now ^_^

Sunday, November 06, 2005

my blog has been kinda sad lately. suffering from a lack of updates, and a lack of visitors, caused by a lack of content, caused by a lack of updates. such a vicious cycle.

i seem to have a lot more free time lately. since i don't work a 2nd job anymore. i planned to start going training again, but not particularly looking forward to the punishment that will be dished out by shihan. just gonna work out at home until my body gets used to the pain :p i just did a short workout session a couple days ago. only about 20 minutes or so, but my body was sore and creaky for the next few days o_O i'm really getting old.

anyway, i've got free time. but it feels like i don't have anything worthwhile to do. i'm bored of wow. probably cuz i'm in the grind to lvl 60 phase and everyone else is already 60 and doing stuff that i can't do yet. aihs. i'm 52 now, so that makes it a minimum of 64 hours of game time to get to 60. and thats if u'r really efficient too. it just doesn't seem worth it... i can watch 153 episodes of anime in that amount of time :p Or read 3 novels. I can even study enough to obtain a H1 in any subject too :p I don't think I've ever spent 64 hours studying for a particular subject. Hmmmm. WoW is really a hugeass timesink.

I'm gonna go shopping today. Going Birkinhead Point (spelling?) with Andy later. I wanted to have breakfast in the Balmain area. Try out one of the cafes over there, but the fugger is busy playing WoW. Aihs... Hope I get to buy a pair of jeans. I only have 1 pair left. Need to buy another pair b4 I wear this one out. Need a pair of slacks too. Hmmmm. Maybe I should wait till Xmas sales. Its only another month plus away.

Friday, November 04, 2005

no events = no blog

Monday, October 31, 2005

You need some parts urgently for a job. You ask a sales rep for prices. You don't get the prices. You find out it is because the rep's wife is in the hospital having complications giving birth. o_O What should you say?

Reminded me of this rep that I dealt with last year. Alwez gave me the best prices on goods. Made savings of a couple grand for the company over the period i was here. When I came back this year and called him up...turns out he passed away.

Makes you think a little doesn't it?

Wednesday, October 26, 2005

watching Densha Otoko. And a wiki link, cuz I'm both lazy to explain, and i'm watching another episode. I'm hooked ^_^

Saturday, October 22, 2005

it feels like a quiet weekend. Just lazing around at home. Thos is camping on my computer now, so I don't have much to entertain myself with. I was doing a spot of reading in the living room, but it got a little dark outside. Couldn't be stuffed turning on the lights :p

Its a nice day to just laze around at home though, so i'm pretty content with not having anything to do. I like this kind of weather. The sun is hidden away, theres a nice breeze outside and its not overly windy nor cold. Perfect for spazzing with a good book or anime ^_^ Pity I don't have a good book (i'm reading one of those Kiyosaki/Tony Robbins type of book at the moment) and I'm out of anime to watch. Meh.

It seems fatty has been annoyed with my lack of progress in WoW, hes taken to lvlling my character for me. Hehehe. I haven't been lvling my character over the past 2 weeks. Every1 else is 60 or nearing it already, and I'm still bumming around at 46 (47 as of last night). Just feel kinda unmotivated to play, and I have other distractions as well. Playing 2 other games at the moment, Dragonshard and Fable. Hmmm. I really should start looking for entertainment that doesn't involve the computer. Don't want all my back n shoulder problems to come back, especially since my job involves parking my bum behind a desk most of the time.

Just a side note, I've been looking at some old pictures lately. From the high school days. Gawd... my hair looks absolutely horrendous. Hahahah. Can't imagine what I was thinking. Sigh... I can't say that I look good in any of my old Cempaka pictures :p Sadness. I should look after my appearance more, but its such a damn pain. Have to make sure my hair is short. Apply wax n crap like that. So annoying. So much effort, and it doesn't feel like I have much to gain. Theres absolutely no chicks at work, now or ever :p Sad fact of being in my company. I shoulda done something like accounting, or design or some crap like that. Aihs...

2 posts in a day! woot. don't feel like playing games (gasp!!) so was just looking thru some old pics. like this one:

cute yeah? i feel like i've posted this pic up b4 though. miss having a dog around. although i have to become an pill popping crackhead around animals now. developed an allery to dogs :( but would still like them around. maybe i can get a short haired next time.

speaking of dogs, me n thos saw one in Pet Paradise the other day. The ultimate dog for guys... Husky & Malamute cross! So cool! 2 power dogs combo in one. heheh.
im' all pooped out today. didn't go in to work today. kena stomachache again. i'm beginning to think that wicked wings and my stomach don't agree with each other. aihs. i just spent my morning at home alternating between playing games on the computer, and camping in the toilet :p my arse quite pain now o_O

neway, gonna just post up some pics that I took in canberra la. i already blogged about my drive down and what I did on Saturday la. so no point in repeating that. i was kinda bummed out on Sunday, cuz my leg was hurting abit. did I mention that my leg cramped up when I was sleeping on friday night? bloody hell... these are the worse kind of cramps. Thos says these cramps come when u'r bloody tired or something. I guess driving for 5 hours, and then going clubbing and 2 persons sleeping in a tiny bed can do that. aihs. newayz. i pretty much crashed out the 2nd night. i took up the entire bed so sweefong had to go over to her friend's place to sleep. oopss ^_^

newayz. went to Floriade on the next day. Its a flower show la. I wasn't expecting much at first. Thought it was just a normal show where they display potted plants n stuff, but its actually quite nice. The flowers were actually planted all over the park. It would have been really nice, but that was the last day...so a fair bit of the flowers were dead :p Oh well. On to the pics.

I was intending to post the pictures I took in canberra, but got back rather late tonight. I was lepakking in the city earlier tonight. Walked around a bit, and then met up with Yen and had some drinks and played pool.

Anyway, I've got my picture uploaded. I'm just lazy to blog it. Except for one that I need to share... I encountered the weirdest sculpture ever when I was in Canberra. Behold...

goatse??

In case you didn't know what I meant by goatse, heres a wiki link. Maybe this statue was done by a Kiwi ^_^ omg, i'm cracking aussie jokes now.

what luck. the company deathtrap brought me to and from Canberra safe and sound. when i started the car this morning, the battery was konked out though. Had to call in NRMA to change the battery. Had to come in to work later than usual :p Oh well.

I'll put up some pics from Canberra when I get home. Its actually lunchtime at work now. Just having a cup of milo. I wonder if I can lose weight if I do this everyday. Sausage and eggs from brekkie, and a cup of milo for lunch. I need more fibre in my diet...1 week of just sausages and eggs aren't too good for me. Owned by constipation :p

i just wanted to blog a little about the Shinobi movie I mentioned. The full name is Shinobi: Heart under Blade. The release is supposedly 17th September, but I haven't found any subbings of it yet ^_^ I watched the trailer this morning. It looks interesting, but trailers more jap movies are always deceiving :p It has Nakama Yukie in it though, so i'm defintely gonna watch it. Shes the chick from Gokusen if you didn't know. Loved that series...so I shall love this movie too :p Anyway, back to work.

Saturday, October 15, 2005

i'm down in canberra for the weekend! got the company car to drive too. woot ! driving it isn't too bad actually. the seats just squeak a lot. and theres noises when i turn the steering wheel. but apart from that...its okay once i bring the car for a wash.

newayz. i'm down here just to lepak with swee fong for abit. theres a flower show too. so can see that as well. it took me bloody ages to drive down though. its supposed to be a 3 hour drive, but i missed the turning. ended up taking a detour through the bush. kinda scary in a way. its pitch black when i turn off the car lights. and there seems like theres nothing around you at all. makes me afraid to get out of the car... after kena assaulted by some serial killer that camps out in the bush o_O

it was an interesting drive apart from that though... quite tiring, cuz the road small and in cacat condition. but i had to really concentrate on the driving cuz i was going around 110km/h. and theres wombats and roos crossing the road. i saw a fat wombat amble across the road! didn't get to snap a picture though. in the end..took me 5 hours to get here. aihs

canberra is as expected la. pretty small and not a whole lot to do. i'm just down for the weekend, so its all good to me. i finally managed to get some clothes shopping today. bought 3 shirts and some socks. all on sale ^_^ There was a pair of Elwood thats pretty nice. cheap too! $140 reduced to $70. And its in size 32...my size! BUTTTTTT... the cutting was too fricking tight. aihs. sadness. i was still tempted to buy it, but decided against it la. jeans should be comfy to wear... not squish your balls to oblivion :p

ermm. fongie cooking dinner now, so i don't have much to do. i wanted to download trailers of some movies that I wanted to watch...but her internet is pretty expensive. so can't do it here. aihs. stupid uni internet connections. 2 foreign flicks that I want to watch. Night Watch and Shinobi (after an anime, not the game). Night Watch is some russian flick thats apparently pretty good. Light vs dark, vampires n stuff. so should be pretty cool. it had a good review in the papers too. might watch that tonight...but fongie not particularly interested. aihs

Tuesday, October 11, 2005

woot! i actually woke up at 6am to go for a swim. heated pool my arse! still bloody cold to me, but it was alright after I did a couple of laps. didn't swim much la, only about 15 minutes. I guess thats alright for a start. don't really have much time, cuz i needed to shower and then cook breakfast as well. should do my best to make this a regular thing. i can save money by cooking at home too! yeah! hoard money ftw!

Monday, October 10, 2005

boo ya! i managed to pass my driving test today! yayyy.. don't have to fork out more money for another test and car rental. and best thing is... i can grab the company car and drive to/from work now!! save me like 2 hours each day. more time for me...more time for wow ^_^ i'm only getting the car next week though :( some1 else needs to use it at the moment. boo.

i cooked myself breakfast today. 3 sausages, baked beans and scrambled eggs. yum!! finally did some grocery shopping yesterday, so we actually have food in the house! i was spose to grill some chicken wings for dinner tonight, but I ended up having some Snicker pods. 1 whole pack made me pretty full, but i think i'll get hungry again pretty soon. guess i should just go to bed. can't be stuffed eating. getting pretty fat liao. aihs. it doesn't seem like i'm gaining weight (unless the weighing machine is lying to me), but i still feel fatter. maybe its cuz i'm wearing office type of work clothes liao. no more loose t-shirts and stuff. most of my shirts are the fitting type too... so my fattiness is more obvious. o_O

thats it. swimming 6am tomorrow...

Saturday, October 08, 2005

its an uneventful week as usual. i've quit my job at the cafe last wednesday, so i'm down to only 1 job now. Earning less money now, but at least I got leisure time now ^_^ Don't have to work nights nor the weekends anymore. I'm actually playing WoW right now. heheh. flying around on a gryffon, so might as well use the time to blog a little.

Now that i'm blogging, I don't know what to write though. Brain not functioning properly yet, cuz I just woke up. Haven't had anything to eat yet either, or more to the point... theres nothing at home to eat. Haven't been grocery shopping in the past month or so i think o_O

aih..back to wow la. heheh, lazy to blog liao :p

Monday, October 03, 2005

its labour day today, and i've just been sleeping the whole morning. not feeling too good. stomach ache. i think its from some foods that i had yesterday. had a bbq thing at the bi-centennial park with Ken's badminton club buddies. the park wasn't really that nice la. guess cuz its pretty new. the trees all very puny looking, even Carlton park in Melbourne was even nicer.

suppose to meet with with Tan for lunch today, but then i just slept thru it. He is gonna play badminton at UNSW later, so might catch him then. See how la, stomach still feeling queasy and I have to work later tonight as well. Ugh... don't think I should eat anything for the rest of the day.

nothing much else to blog la. i was suppose to lepak with fongie today as well, but she terlupa her phone in canberra. so end up ffk me. ish! neway. thats it for now la. oh! i've started playing FF7 again :) Its actually not as bad as I thought. Going through the story again is quite fun. The storyline makes up for the outdated graphics. Only problem is using the keyboard for controls. Hmmm. I think Thos has a joypad. Must go dig it up.

Tuesday, September 27, 2005

knnccb... i did my driving test this morning. and i fucking failed! arrrrghhh!!! $130 bucks down the fricking toilet. Aussie $130!! thats like almost RM400!!! the bah kut tehs i could have had! the roti canais! the indo mie gorengs! /cry

now i have to wait 7 days to do another test, which isn't too bad. but booking an actual test is kinda iffy. most of the ones i can go to are booked out for the month. i'd do it at Liverpool la, since the traffic isn't too bad. I kinda like it with more traffic anyway. Easier to drive imo, especially since the god damned speed limits in residential streets is usually 50km/h (note: I failed my test by driving at 52km/h in a 50 zone. the inspector anal or not?)

anyway, now I gotta hope for driving test cancellations after nex tuesday, so i get this thing over and done with. aihs. i think i'll kill myself if i fail again. blehh

Sunday, September 25, 2005

it seems like blogging is a weekly thing for me now. i only do it when i'm don't have WoW to play :p Incidently, I wanted to go shopping for some new clothes today. But then kena cancel cuz played WoW for too long. Doing an instance run with the rest of the guys. About 3 hours gone there. Aihs... oh well, guess I have to shop next week.

Ermmm. Whats new? I'm taking my driving test on Tuesday. I'll be doing a quick run through of the test with a driving school tomorrow as well. Just to make sure I'm prepared. Hope it goes well la. Not cheap wei. I gotta rent a car from the school for $90. Can't really use the company one cuz its such a bloody shoddy car. Cracked windows, rotting steering wheel, rusted window wipers o_O Aihs...to think I'll be driving that car to work everyday once I get my license. Sadness.

Nothing much else apart from that. The week has been pretty boring. Just work, WoW and anime. Oh! I downloaded Advent Children too! Bloody awesome. Its definitely the best CG movie yet. As a movie, its still pretty cool la. Just wish there were more fight scenes involving the rest of the FF7 characters. But the whole movie was nice. The music is good too. The only qualm I have about it was that certain parts of the music didn't go with the scene la. It was a little hard understanding the story, since I've forgotten quite a bit of FF7. Watching the movie makes me feel like playing the game again ^_^ See how la, if I have time. Hehehe. The entire Advent Children story is actually on wikipaedia. And everything else FF too. Quite detailed.

Sunday, September 18, 2005

Haven't blogged for more than a week. Been sorta busy la. Well, I've been away from my computer to be more accurate :p I was in Perth from Tuesday till Thursday. Visit my kaima for her birthday, as well as officially make her my kaima la. Had a small tea ceremony... I gave her a cup of tea, and she gave me angpow and a mini gold bowl & chopstick (its just laced with gold la). The bowl is suppose to represent us providing for each other or something like that.

Didn't do much else in Perth. I got hooked on some korean drama that my mom had (mom and sis were over there as well). Its called All In, and I reckon its pretty nice to watch. Rags to riches type of tale, with the obligatory love story/triangle. Its kinda slow moving la, lots of filler parts. Zoomed in shots of the actors crying, laughing etc etc. Repeat clips of them doing something in the past when they are feeling nostalgic. Same old tricks to lengthen a drama la. I'm thankful for the seek button on the remote ^_^ I'm down to 4 more discs (total of 20, 2 eps each)

Apart from all that, nothing much has happened at work. I only worked 2 days this week :) so my pay cheque isn't gonna be very satisfying. But I'll have my regular 50+ hours of work from next week onwards. Work at the company Mondays to Fri, and the cafe Mon and Wed nights. Oooo.. that just reminded me that I have to study for my driver's knowledge test. Damn lazy weii. Aihs... 109 pages worth of questions to look through, but they are pretty easy la. Common sense stuff. Just a pain to do. I plan to get 100% on my test :p

Friday, September 09, 2005

lunch break at work, so just gonna blog a little bit. don't have much to blog about actually. its just been work, go home, WoW and then sleep. Fatty is down here in Sydney though. Came down on Wednesday. I haven't lepak'ed with him yet. No time, plus I'm lazy too. Hehehe. Going back home at 7 and sleeping at 10 kills any social life outside of WoW o_O

don't even have time to watch the anime that fatty brought down for me. I'll probably just rip the DVDs or something. I'm gonna be working at Shark this weekend too, so won't have time then as well. Its my last 2 shifts though. I'm quitting this week. I'm still continuing with the cafe for a little while more, but I reckon I'll stop that too.

Once I get my driving license done, I'll be able to have more time to myself (i.e. WoW time :p), rather than spend 4 hours a day travelling to and from work. Damn sick... But I get to read on the train and catch up on some sleep, so its not as bad as it sounds la. Oh! and Carol is gonna come down Sydney for a couple of days from the 19th. Nice! I wanna travel around for work too.

b4 I forget...and update on my HP application. I emailed the recruiter and got this back:

We have informed 6 candidates that we wish to make them an offer and all
have indicated that they are likely to accept. We are just in the
process of ref checking and generating offers. The seventh Sydney role
has been withdrawn by the manager.

I would think that it is becoming less likely that we will be able to
continue with your application for this role.

Obviously I can't say anything definite until offers are accepted.

*sniff* I knew i needed an assasin... Lets hope that those 6 candidates bullshitted their way through the interviews and their refs don't check out ^_^ *prays really hard*

Monday, September 05, 2005

hey hey! back from Threadbo and it was bloody awesome! All my muscles are sore, I'm bruised in several areas and I have a sprained ankle but it was all worth it ^_^ Boarding is so cool, and I think both of us (me n Thos) did pretty well for our first time. We could do the falling leaf pattern (i'm lazy to explain :p) reasonably well ah. So we can go down a slope without bulldozing if we wanted to. The hard bit was doing the linked turns (which is the cool looking one ^_^). We learnt how to do that the 2nd day. Not too bad la. I can turn in one direction, but not in the other :p I think the most I managed was about 3-4 linked turns.

I didn't take a whole lot of pictures. Too engrossed in boarding, and I didn't bring my camera up to the mountain the first day.

Some random location on the trail

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
I lost track of Thos on the 2nd day, so we just went exploring by ourself. This is part of the Village Trail, a green run (easiest)

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
This one is a blue run (more difficult) called Ballroom I think. Quite nice to board down, until you reach the bottom part. There were patches of ground and the snow is pretty thin. I avoided a patch of rock and wiped after that. Bloody painful landing on your knees. Ouch...

Thats about all the pictures la. Not a whole lot. The whole trip set us back roughly $500 each, but pretty worth it I suppose. It was great. Except that I can't go to work today cuz I can't walk properly. Gonna pop in to the doctor later today just to make sure my ankle is ok.

Friday, September 02, 2005

leaving for skiing in less than 10 minutes. i'm having a cold, and feeling a little feverish. don't care though. i'm going to have fun even if it kills me.

i'll try to post up pictures of Threadbo when we get back. Thats if I don't die on the mountain la o_O

Thursday, September 01, 2005

almost 2am in the morning and I can't sleep. been tossing n turning in bed for roughly 2 hours. ugh. don't like this. I don't think Thos playing WoW on my computer helps either :p I need to get a a silent keyboard.

i didn't even have any coffee today. had a cup of earl grey in the morning and thats about it for my caffeine intake. just can't switch off my brain. too many random thoughts pouring in. and its not even useful random thoughts. haihs. thinking about work. about my application to HP (which I still haven't heard jack from). about the lack of a female presence in my life. about what i can do to get rich. sigh. oh! and also about WoW :p

I can always play WoW until I feel sleepy, but then I might not stop until its time for me to get to work. So i figure blogging is a reasonably safe option to pass some time. maybe I'm getting a little excited over the prospect of finally going skiing this weekend. almost 5 years of being in Australia and I haven't even seen snow yet. i've always categorised it as something too expensive for me to do. but then again, I shouldn't scrimp and save so much. Learn to live a little more, after all... I could get hit by a bus tomorrow. Or get run down by a forklift at work o_O (thats a very real danger for me btw...)

the latest music that i'm dloading? Nirvana... dance remix ^_^

Monday, August 29, 2005

work is just tooo easy.

i'm starting to get bored of it already. doing nothing all day but pushing papers. nothing new to do yet. the only thing i've got to look forward to is implement the e-purchasing thing. I think it is supposed to happen this week. Waiting for Malaysia to send us the software package. Its built in-house la, by the IT department (only 2 ppl o_O) I'm not expecting much out of it, but at least its a change from the way things are done in Australia. Hopefully, a good one.

Thos and Ken ugut me to belanja dinner cuz of my raise. aihs. money in, money out o_O I suppose its a must anyway (then again, Thos didn't shout dinner when he got the Suncorp job :p)

I'm still not feeling that well, so I'm gonna sleep early tonight. I think this is gonna be routine for a while la. Wake up 6am, get ready for work, travel 2 hours to work, be bored at work, travel 2 hours to come home (after having dinner in city), play 2 hours of WoW and then sleep.

hmmm.... how exciting :p

Friday, August 26, 2005

I'm back to work at Favco liao. And its not for a few weeks like I mentioned earlier. I'm gonna be there till the end of the year, probably. Or at least a couple of months la. The GM called me in on Wednesday, and told me to make an offer. Cool huh? I've never gotten to do that before. So now I'm getting $45k p.a. and the company picks up my transport expenses. I'm gonna be provided with a car too, once I get my license. Oh! I sort of get super as well, but I get paid that instead, cuz I'm gonna be on a casual basis. So I'm getting roughly a $50k+ package. Not bad ^_^ Especially considering I used to be paid $32k :p

When I was calculating how much I could possibly get from a full time bar job, its actually comparable. If you include tips and stuff, a bartender at a decent bar would be getting $45k+ too. If you do a 40 hour week inclusive of weekends la. Quite a lot huh? Australia has got to be the best place for doing nonsense jobs.

I'm not feeling well today, so I didn't go to work. I haven't been getting enough sleep for the past 2 weeks. Woke up with a fever, sore throat and a blocked nose. Ughh... not a nice feeling. I slept abit more, so I don't feel feverish anymore, but I've got a bit of a headache. But thats not gonna stop me from playing WoW ^_^

Sunday, August 21, 2005

i'm actually playing WoW right now. Waiting in WoW to be more exact. I want to finish up some quests before I go to sleep. I'm actually a little lazy to talk about work tonight. I worked at Star Bar instead of Shark. Fucking hell busy. Don't like working there... its gets kinda filthy after a while. Shark and Space is actually pretty clean in comparison o_O

Thos ko'ed early tonight as well. First weekend that he didn't play WoW until 4-5 in the morning. But thats only cuz he was sick. Aihs... stupid boy. Couldn't bum a lift off him, had to take a cab back from work. I could actually work till closing, which would be around 5 something, but felt really lazy tonight. And its a HUGGEEEE mess to clean up. Its stupid la. Kinda short staffed, but the management too cheapo to hire more ppl. Sheesh.

Friday, August 19, 2005

fool. i've been thinking that its a Saturday today. Sheesh. Working on a Thursday night threw my time off. I only realised after i called Thos to go out for lunch, and found out he was at work o_O No wonder he only played WoW until about 1 something. Hehe.

i've been working a lot this week. I was called back to Favco to help out with rebuilding some computers. That was Wednesday and Thursday. I worked at night as well. So its almost a 18 hour workday, if you include the travel time :p And starting next week, I'll be working back at Favco too. Its gonna be a casual/part time thing. They don't have enough staff and the work is falling behind, so the managers asked me if I wanted to work there for a couple of weeks. Its gonna be up to 4 weeks la. They are interviewing someone for the position at the moment. But its gonna be a couple of weeks b4 they can start, so I'm filling in for the meantime. I don't really like it though. Have to travel 2 hours just to get to work. Ughh... they'r gonna pick up my transport expenses though. Offered me the company car as well, but then I don't have a local driving license, so can't drive. Bah. Anyway, I'll see how it goes la. I'm still gonna keep my cafe and bar job. So i'm technically working 3 jobs now. Woot!

As for HP, I emailed the guy in charge. He mailed back yesterday. Apparently I haven't been cut off yet. I passed the assessment center, but just not good enough to be among the first few to be interviewed. So it just depends whether the other ppl accept the job offer or not. Dammit. I need an assasin. Kill off the competition...

What else is new? Can't really think of anything else. oh! I met up with Fongie on Tuesday night though. She came down from Canberra for an industry night, but she had to go back to Thailand almost immediately. Her grandma passed away, so shes going back for the funeral. Aihs.

Monday, August 15, 2005

fwah. haven't made a post for a week. well, almost la. I feel like I should get an palm pc or something, so that I can blog on the go. Was thinking about it today, but kinda pointless. Its not like blogging is my life. During the day, I'll think of something that I want to write about. But when I get to blogging, its either outdated or I've forgotten about it.

Anyway, a few quick updates la. I haven't been playing WoW a lot the past week. Maybe only an hour or 2 each day. I did start a new character though. Thos did as well. Cuz Azrin n Fatts gonna start WoW real soon (did I mention that already?) Fatty is joining in as well. And I got Andy to create a new character too. Hehhe. We've got a full party consisting of me=druid, fatty=warlock, nins=rogue, fatts=mage, andy=priest and thos=paladin. Sweet!! Now if only Thos will get a new computer, then we can all play together (provided I get my own account la :p)

Workwise... no updates at all. I should be hearing back from HP this week. I'm gonna email the guy later to follow up la. Pray hard for me! I really want this job!!! (sorta :p) I've been working the whole weekend, including a double shift at Sidewalk today. It wasn't super busy at the bar this weekend, so could take it easy. I don't remember anything in particular on Friday night, but Sat was more interesting. Firstly, the sink in the disabled toilet got totalled. Apparently there was a couple trying to have sex in the toilet. The girl sat on the sink, and it fell off. They got thrown out after that.

Another incident happened outside the premises later that night. Some guy got pissed drunk and fell down some stairs (or something like that). Cracked his head open and was bleeding all over o_O Security called an ambo for them (bleeding guy + frens), but they didn't want to wait for it. They tried getting a cab, but no cabbie wanted to take them. There was a big hoo-hah because the guy's friends were literally chasing the cabs down the street or something. I don't know the whole story la, just bits and pieces of what the manager told me.

Not much else... the beginning of the night was fun la. There was a damn hot asian chick wearing one of those V-shaped top/dress/undearwear. Nosebleed sexy! And she was playing pool too. I think the eyes of all the guys around her tend to wander to a certain spot when she bends over *fapfapfapfap* There was also a girl that flirted with me la ^_^ Thats a first. Pity she wasn't that hot asian chick, but its nice to know that there are still some girls that are interested in me :p

p.s Oooo, I also picked up $20 off the floor that night ^_^ I love drunk ppl.

Wednesday, August 10, 2005

I should be sleeping instead of writing a blog. Woke up earlier than I wanted to today, some stupid car alarm went off and wouldn't stop. At first I thought it was coming from my computer. Bloody freaked me out. The car alarm sounded like my com when it overheats.

Anyway, Thos's dad is in Sydney for a couple of days. He arrived this morn, so just spent part of the day tagging along for the food ^_^ We went yumcha in Hurstville in the arvo and then just had dinner at Kingsford with Jeremy's aunt, her husband/bf (i.e also Jeremy's boss), Ken and Betty.

Didn't do much else today. I've finally started doing some serious work on my website. Just working on getting the layout in CSS right (it can be a fucking bitch...), and cleaning up the design along the way. I've decided to code and design at the same time. Thats not the correct way to do it laa...but at this point, I think its the best way to keep me interested long enough to complete it. I do have a general idea of how I want the site to look already, so its not all that ad-hoc.

Ah crap, my hands are starting to itch again. Damn allergies. And I don't even know what it is reacting to. The only thing I've noticed is that it happens at night and if I used the computer for long periods during the day. Hmmm... can that trigger an allergic reaction? Speaking of allergies, Thos might have developed an reaction to prawns. Muahahahah!!! His lips swelled and got itchy after he ate some prawn roll thingo today. Divine punishment for all the times he kena'ed me because I can't eat prawns ^_^

Saturday, August 06, 2005

Thos hijacked my computer for Lumpy day, so I'm stuck using his crummy computer :p Lumpy is what Tho's guildmates call him (Tho's warrior is Lumparthorr). So Lumpy day is when they all get together and hit a dungeon, cuz he doesn't get to instance with them during the week.

I'm working tonight again, so I have roughly 6 hours to kill. Maybe I'll rent another DVD later. I seem to be doing that a lot, cuz I'm trying to WoW less. Its getting expensive. Aihs... WoW really is a cheap source of entertainment.

Hmmmmm.... I guess I'll blog about my work at Sharkies. I think I've been there for almost 3 months? I'm still a glassie though. Sheesh. But I'll be starting at the bar soon la. Its either next week or the week after. I've already waited so long...another 2 weeks won't kill me. I just think I should do something about my job at the cafe though. It feels like I get paid squat and theres nothing worthwhile to learn anymore. The only good thing is that I know the ppl there, and the work is pretty easy la. I work for an average of 5-6 hours and its only busy for about an hour. So the rest of the time is just spent talking crap and making hot chocolate for myself. Theres always stuff to do, like cleaning up, stocking up etc, but its pretty much stuff you can take your own time to do.

The other thing is that the shifts are pretty nice too. I just work on Mon, Wed and Sun nights. Occasionally an extra shift if someone can't come. I'd like to get another bar job, but I doubt I can get shifts like that. Being able to work on Fri and Saturday is pretty much a requirement for bars, unless of boobs. Speaking of which, there was this girl yesterday that was wearing a low cut top. Its a normal top laa.. not slutty looking or anything, but it would be pretty revealing if the girl is sitting down. Nice birds eye view :) I wanted to ask for her number, but no chance. She was pretty much surrounded by guys. They'r all kinda daggy looking and I doubt shes attached to any of them. If she is... then life really does suck balls. Oh yeah... her looks were good too, so I'm not judging by breasts alone :p

i just realised that my new blog template was my old one. Doh! It feels a lot messier now, but I'm kinda lazy to make modifications to the formatting. I'll probably change it another day. I originally wanted to put in a picture of my character from WoW, but don't know how to make it look nice on the blog.

No shifts today, so I just spent the whole morning (and most of the afternoon) watching anime. Just completed Saber Marionette J. So touching :p I think I feel more emo watching anime than real life flicks. On another note, its nice to just potato out on my bed. I felt a little guilty after spending a couple of hours like that cuz it feels like I'm not making use of my free time properly. Then again, isn't leisure time for doing what I like...and I like watching anime and playing games.

Every now and then, I think to myself if it is ok for me to continue leading my life like this. Just continue working at the cafe and bar, and then just watch anime or play WoW the rest of the time. I'm doing what I like, but somehow it feels wrong. Should I work harder at trying to get a white collar job? A white collar job isn't all that great (at least not for the average plebeian) I was talking to the guy who came to fix my carpet yesterday, and he told me some guys in the field can make up to 200K plus a year. Woot! The majority of white collars will never see that kind of money. The carpet guy makes about 2k+ week, but he only works around 3-4 hours a day and I think thats just Mondays to Friday. Its a damn good deal. What the hell did I go uni for?

Hmmm... I lost track of what I wanted to post. I really should get my thoughts organised when blogging. I usually think of stuff that I want to comment about in my blog, but it comes to typing it out, I forget and just end up writing about my daily ins and outs. Makes me feel like my blog is lacking substance :p Not that it really matters la, but still.

Oh yeah, I discovered a food that I want to try! Philly cheesesteak!! It sounds damn awesome huh? I did some googling on it and got kinda disappointed cuz it wasn't what I was expected. I was hoping for slab of prime beef, slathered with philly cheese. I've never thought of that b4, and it sounds damn power! However, it turns out that a philly cheesesteak is just some sort of sub with meat and cheese. Looks like an open faced kebab from the pictures I saw. Sighh....

p.s I'm still gonna make Thos bring me to eat some though ^_^ Apparently theres a place in Rockdale that does it. I don't pass up on meat and cheese :p

yay! my carpet got fixed this morning. i finally get to live in my room again, after approx 1 1/2 months :p I'm still out $400 though...aihs. Summore plan to go skiing. I'm so broke. And I need to fly to Perth for my godmum's bday in Sept, thats also another $400. Super broke...

It was kinda interesting watching the guy put the carpet in. I suppose its sorta worth the money you pay him. He definitely does more work than a locksmith. And charge roughly the same amount (I think...) But anyway, the carpet isn't a perfect match. I'd go a bit anal about it if it was my own home, but I'm renting so it doesn't matter.

its been a while since I wanted to start up my own PC sales business. dunno if I've mentioned this on my blog, but yeah. That idea popped in my head during my uni days but I just kept putting off doing anything substantial for it. Andy was pretty hyped about a similar idea after reading one of the Rich Dad Poor Dad books and we threw ideas around for a bit la. Never did anything after he got started on Warcraft (am I to blame? Nahh... I'll just point at Thos ^_^)

But anway, I intend it to be a primarily online thing, so I've sort of been working on a website for it. Just trying to come out with a decent layout, and how I'll go about coding it. I've sort of settled for a hybrid between Accenture's website and another layout that was outlined in a CSS book that I bought. The only problem now is doing the graphics for it. I kinda suck at that... a lot. I have this idea in my head of how I want it to look, but I can't just transfer that to the computer screen. Doesn't help that I don't really know how to use graphic manipulation programs.

I'm gonna try to slow down playing my warcraft so that I can work on this a bit more. WoW has become a bad addiction. I've played it for a total of 22+ days, that is... more than 528 hours and counting. Thats already more than a years worth of uni classes :p (2 yrs if u'r a commerce student :p) The good thing is..that I'm starting to be bored with what I can do with my character. The bad thing is.. Azrin and Fatts is gonna start playing too, so I've more reasons to start a new character o_O Oh nooees!

Don't really know what to blog about, but I don't feel like sleeping yet, and Thos took over my computer as well. Its been an uneventful week. I don't recall anything out of the ordinary happening. No aching body from training (cuz I haven't been :p) and no fires in my bedroom. This week has just been sleep, eat, WoW and work. Nothing new there I suppose.

I did sorta get a few things done though. I've scheduled my carpet to be fixed next wednesday (its been more than a month already!) and its gonna set me back $400 :'( It took a while cuz I couldn't really find a proper replacement for the carpet. Landlord ok'ed the sample that we'r gonna use, so thats fine by me. As for whether I'll be compensated by the company which makes the heater, I don't know yet. They should have gotten in touch with me by now, and I tried following up the matter with an email, but no reply. I'll see how that goes next week.

Ermmm.. other news. I might be FINALLY starting work behind the bar next week o_O As long as the manager didn't forget about it. I'm gonna remind him about it when I go n pick up my pay. I'm still rostered on the floor for next week, so dunno whats the story. I think I might just be getting an hour or so to become familiar with the till, b4 I actually start out. Ah well.

Hmmm.. didn't realise that its Sunday now. Thought it was a Monday. My sense of time is a little off now, cuz I've been working Saturdays for the past 2 months but I didn't get a shift today, errr, yesterday. Which means I won't be able to use my own computer tonight. Bah! Guess I'll hit the sack early today.

didn't really feel like playing WoW today, so just read a couple of blogs. Found face analyzer from one of them. Spent a little time mucking around with that. This is my fav profile :)

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
I likeee :)

Nice profile yeah? Obviously not super accurate since i'm neither japanese/korean. And not highly sociable. But the rest of the stuff hits the mark ^_^ Heheheh. I wanted to try getting my promiscuity score up, but the site wouldn't let after i tried it a couple of times. Guess you can only do it a couple of times in a day.

Oh! Elaine passed me a website for doing IQ tests yesterday. I tried out the culture fair one. I think its either 20 or 25 questions, doesn't seem to be a time limit. I only did about 15 plus questions and then I got lazy liao, so didn't bother answering the rest of the questions. I still got a score of 106 though. Not a bad score, considering i skipped a quarter of the test ^_^ I don't think they'r a great judge on a person's intelligence, since you can actually study how to do these tests. Its mostly pattern recognition, but nevertheless fun to do. I might try it again later on when I've got time. It ought to pull questions randomly from a test bank, but dunno if thats true or not. Haven't tried it out.

i haven't been putting pictures up on my blog lately. the last few posts look so spartan. but its sorta troublesome to put up pictures, cuz i have to upload them to the computer, and then resize it, and then upload them to photobucket.com and then copy/paste the html over here. so many steps involved. don't really have another way around it though, apart from writing my own blog site from scratch. which i am sorta lazy to do now.

i feel so relaxed today. mainly cuz i don't have to work tonight. i've been working sunday nights for the past month i think, so it feels like a nice break. I managed to get my 8 hours worth of sleep. so nice :) can just loll around in bed, instead of having to wake up earlier so that I have more time in the day to do stuff. I was thinking of playing WoW (duh? what else I do at home) but Thos beat me to it. bahger... i usually play at this time during the weekends cuz he is usually spazzed out in bed. but he slept early last night so he could wake up earlier today. he gave me a lift from work yesterday la (and the past few weekends ^_^) so nvm la... let him play :p

Friday, July 22, 2005

I learnt about a neat 'toy' yesterday. Google Earth! Its basically a satellite imagery of the whole planet. Pretty cool, obviously not updated real time la. But you get to check out the whole planet. I tried looking for my home in KL, but I couldn't make out where it was. I did find where I used to stay in Melbourne though. So cool!

and I just found my current apartments too! hahaha. its kinda fun ^_^ Its a fixed texture la, so you can't zoom in all the way (so you can't see people or cars :p) but you can make out buildings relatively easily. Try it out if you've got broadband. I'm gonna check out Singapore and Japan later ^_^

Thursday, July 21, 2005

my interview with HP was today! bloody ordeal... well, actually it was kinda easy in a way la. just felt like a long day. The whole sessions starts at 12.45pm, but I woke up at 9 to get ready and find out how to get there. I had to take a bus down to Central station, take a train to Chatswood and then another bus to the company. I think it would take about 1 1/2 hours average to get there. just that I took extra long today cuz I couldn't figure out where to go. Alot more convenient than Favco, cuz the bus drops me off right in front of the business park, and its fairly close to Chatswood as well. Roughly 10 minute drive.

About the whole assessment thing. There was about ermm....13 other people in my session. Mix and match group... most of them still studying though. I think i'm the oldest graduate there (/paiseh). There was a presentation at first. Some guy gave a briefing of the interview process, and just some background knowledge regarding HP. Then they had some '05 graduates come up and talk a little about their experience. After that was a group assessment thingie. They divided us into groups of 4 (well..5,4,4 to be exact) and gave us a relatively simple management scenario. It was basically a list of 6 employees that you have to meet during the day and the question asks you in what order you will see them and why. Relatively easy question la...do you see a guy that has cancer first? or a guy that you need to fire? or someone that you need to promote? etc etc. stuff like that

After that was a individual written assessment. Kinda easy as well. Its nothing technical, but more to assess you on your ability to communicate. E.g. your client is getting his panties in a bunch and started hassling you. Write an email to him explaining blah blah blah. Pretty simple...the hardest part for me was having to write it out using a pen o_O My handwriting seems to have gotten worse than it originally is...and i think i wrote at a 30 degree angle. Hmmmmm...

There was coffee break after that...and then the interviews started *doom* Wasn't too bad though. We had to do 2 interviews. One with HR and another with one of the business managers. The HR interview is fairly simple, and the girl that interviewed me was bright and chirpy. So could relax a little more. Questions are more general in a sense, easy enough to draw on my own experiences, and I've been to enough interviews to kinda know what to expect :p

The business interview went ok as well. The manager looked kinda slack too, so I wasn't too nervous during the interview *note: making small chat b4 getting to the interview helps* I was asked some software/programming related questions as well, but I could answer most of them. So no biggie. I only missed out on what SOA was. It stands for Service Oriented Architecture btw, not that most of you guys would need to care :p

Anyway, if I did well enough, I'll get a call within 1-3 weeks. If not...no biggie :'( Incidently, just some statistics

4,952 people applied for the HP grad programme
801 people got a phone interview
164 (or thereabouts) got invited to the assessment centre (what i did today)
and only 52 will get a job.

Nice to know that I'm in the top 3% of the mass of applicants ^_^

Tuesday, July 19, 2005

its been about 2 months since i've started working at Shark/Space. But i'm still working as a glassie. It isn't so bad cuz I don't mind the work, but a waste of time for me la. I'm gonna speak the with manager this week and request that I start behind the bar next week or something. If not, I'm gonna start looking for work at another bar liao (well..i'm not gonna say that bit to him la)

But first up, I'm gonna have my interview with HP on Thursday. I still don't know how to get to their assessment centre. Have to catch a bus, then a train, and maybe another bus or cab. Its actally kinda far from home actually. I'm hoping thats not going to be where I'll be working if I get the job. Sucks if I have to commute so much. I've had enough of that during my Favco time.

I don't quite know how to prepare for my interview, and honestly... I'm pretty damned lazy to do it as well. It all seems like a waste of time. Mainly cuz I'm not a 100% on what I want. I'll blog more on this nex time la. Need to organise my thoughts, hard to do it when I'm just thinking about getting my next rank in WoW ^_^

Oh! and my mom sent over 2 charms for me as well. I'm gonna have to burn it...and then drink it o_O Not the ashes la...but the water. Then sprinkle over myself or something like that. Its supposed to dispel the bad luck I've been having. I don't think my lucks been THAT bad. Well..my bed did get burnt down and stuff. And I haven't been able to secure a job. But still. I'm alive and well...sort of. Every little bit helps I suppose.

Saturday, July 16, 2005

i worked from 4pm till 4am yesterday. nice! should have been till 5-6 in the morn la, but Space was pretty dead was night. not a whole lot of people compared to the usual. The whole thing started dying down by 2.30-3 in the morning. I think even Shark had more people at that time. I think it will be busy tonight though, but I'm not working in the club tonight so thats ok.

I just made myself a craptastic lunch... i'm starting to feel sick already. Originally wanted to just cook some pasta and add some tuna to it, but then I decided to steal a can of corn beef from Thos. Disgusting stuff, it really reminded me of dog food when I was cooking it. I think it might be expired... but I couldn't find an expiry date on the can o_O Can't believe I actually ate it, but beggars can't be choosers. Haven't been grocery shopping in what? 3 weeks+ maybe? And Thos probably played WoW till 5 in the morn...so he wouldn't wake up till uhhh...4-5 in the afternoon.

I've been meaning to write up on my experience in working at a night club, but feel kinda lazy. Rather dedicate some time to playing WoW and watching anime. Heheheh. Maybe later when I decide to lay off WoW again la. Been going at the game like a crazy fool lately. I'm back to playing 6 hours+ each day since the patch :p Which means I'm off to play again... until I need to leave for work.

Wednesday, July 13, 2005

i've got nothing to blog about. 'cept for the fact that i've caught a cold and a sore throat. bloody uncomfortable. i need to start stocking up on cold medicine at home. i'm just popping my painkillers and telfast. Telfast isn't good enough for colds, I think theres no pseudoephedrine in it (helps clears blocked nose).

Anyway, I've ordered pizza for dinner again. Did the same thing yesterday. Absolutely nothing left to eat at home. Need to go grocery shopping this weekend or something. Maybe I'll go by myself tomorrow, but feelin lazy. I wanna get out of the house, but its been bloody cold lately. Makes me feel like just staying at home and playing WoW all day, which is what I did. I played for 9 hours today o_O Haven't played so much in a day for quite a while, but today was special, cuz WoW got some new content today. And theres a number of changes to the warlock (my character), so I mucked around more than usual today.

Tuesday, July 12, 2005

i got my new bed. yay! it cost me $390. not so yay...

Monday, July 11, 2005

gonna go out to window shop for a bed again. I went last Friday as well. Hard to make up my mind. I found one for $300, and another one for $380 (both doubles). Its just the mattress, the base would be another $180 thereabouts. Can't make up my mind as to which one I want. The $300 one looks pretty ugly, covered in some sort of pattern. Plus I didn't really like the sales guy. He seemed kinda pushy.

I'm gonna go to another bedding store now. Its about a 20 minutes walk down the street. I still can't start Tho's bike. I gave up after the pedal ripped out a chunk of my foot when I was kick starting it. The pedals all rusty n stuff... so I hope I don't get tetanus from it o_O I don't know if I'm vaccinated...hmmm

Anyway...got to go already. Need to head to work later as well, so don't really have much time. Laterz

Friday, July 08, 2005

Some good news for once, I've recently got through to the 2nd stage of 2 job interviews. Ermm, job assessments to be more exact. I applied for a position at www.sandstone-tech.com.au about 1-2 weeks ago? Don't even remember what it was, I think it was a graduate software developer position :p But neway, they sent back a questionaire for me to fill out. Did that...and then yesterday they came back to me and asked me to do an online assessment. Pretty neat. First timeI had to do an IQ test for a job interview. Its just pattern recognition la, quite fun. I like those type of questions. Its just like solving puzzles, and I'm reasonably good at it ^_^

I use to think that every1 should be able to do those questions pretty easily. Cuz I don't really see whats so difficult about them (well..most of the questions anyway). But Jacq did it once and I remember she couldn't really do those pattern questions well. oh well.

Anyway, I also got a 2nd interview with HP as well. Position of associate consultant, but this is a 2006 graduate role. AGES away. Thats on the 21st this month, so with me luck then! Guess I really should start preparing for interviews huh? I know I still do pretty crappy at them...

Thats that then... I'm not gonna count my chickens b4 they hatch (ooooo...i used a proverb ^_^) so just gonna take things as they come. No expectations = no dissapointment :p

Tuesday, July 05, 2005

I don't have any real work to do till Friday, so i'm gonna try get a couple of things done this week. First item would be to get my carpet fixed and get a new bed. The landlord came by with a couple of carpet samples today, but none of them matched well enough. He saw one at the carpet store that he thought would match well but when he brought it over, it was too dark. I'm kinda glad...cuz that one would have set me back almost $800!! fuck! i am gonna be so absofuckinglutely broke...

neway. i didn't really get to much today. i had lunch in the city with Lia and then did some shopping! Well...not really shopping. I bought some cheapo $2 socks, some drugs and candy. Feels kinda nice to buy stuff. It feels like I haven't done that in ages. I need to go clothes shopping too. Feels like i'm running out of stuff to wear. I only have 1 pair of jeans left. The rest got destroyed one way or the other... and never got around to replacing them.

Sposed to start kickboxing again tonight, but i'm feeling lazy. Don't really have the mood for it la. Especially when I think about how i'll feel after waking up tomorrow morning after roughly 2 months of slacking. Plus I don't have a comfy bed to sleep on. Aihs...

oh! that reminds me. I finally got to try the Tonkotsu ramen at Ichiban-boshi today! Its not too bad la. Tasty... but its not like its a huge step over the rest of their noodles to warrant just 15 bowls per day.

Monday, July 04, 2005

i intended to go out and look for a new bed today. i'm sorta used to sleeping on the floor now. i don't wake up feeling sore left, right and centre any more. but i don't think i'm getting a decent rest. i just feel sleepy all the time. so yes... i really need a bed now. besides... not having something nice and soft to crawl into after a long day kinda sucks :p

theres 1 or 2 bedding stores pretty close by, so i wanted to take Tho's bike out. but I can't friggin get it to start. stupid kick start bike :p tried to start it up for a good 15 minutes... ppl shouldn't have to sweat when starting a bike o_O Its partly Thos fault too. never use his bike for about a month :p

so neway...i decided to stay home after that episode. hehehe. i'm a lazy ass. i'm just gonna buy some lunch from downstairs, eat..and then catch up on a couple hours sleep b4 heading off to work later at night.

Tuesday, June 28, 2005

haven't really had time to blog since the last post. i still haven't gotten my carpet fixed. i did call someone to come in and have a look, but all he did was just measure the room and cut a sample out. i wanted to go look for the carpet myself, cuz its cheaper that way. but haven't been able to do that. spose to go last saturday, but ended up being stuck at home cuz our front door got painted. had to leave the door open so the paint could dry, so we ended up being stuck at home. the landlord is gonna help me look for the carpet neway, so problem solved...sorta

doesn't feel like i did much for the past week. I practically worked through the whole weekend. so i'm feeling damn tired. especially since i've been sleeping on the floor. been waking up sore all over.

what else? ermmm. Went to 4 Points Sheraton for a buffet dinner last Thursday. It wasn't too bad... but I don't think its worth it if we paid full price. They had a 2 for 1 promotion going on. So its $27.50 each (instead of $55). The desserts are nice, but the rest of the stuff weren't anything special. I think the buffet we had at Marriots was just as good, if not better.

On Friday we were spose to go eat at the Spanish Club in the city, but plan got cancelled because Andy ffk. I think he had a pretty stressful weekend, mainly because he couldn't play WoW ^_^ At first his internet died. When that got fixed, his computer died. He wanted to go out and buy a new computer straightaway so he could play WoW asap o_O aihs..the terrible things an addiction causes. and to think its indirectly our fault :)

Tuesday, June 21, 2005

today was the single most exciting day i've had the whole year. i got the mother of all wakeup calls... a toasted foot and a burning bed o_O

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

my heater melted down or something and took out a corner of my bed along with it. Waking up to face a wall of orange flame is not something I would want to face again. My foot got toasted by the fire...but I didn't get any burns or anything. It just feels a little raw now... kinda like after touching a hot kettle.

My bed burns pretty well too. The flames were high enough to lick my face. At least its easy enough to put out. 2 buckets of water did the trick. I wanted to use the fire extingusher...but I forgot where it was. I kept thinking "living room..living room", but thats where the extinguisher in my KL house was o_O I did try beating out the flames at first... but instantly regretted it.

Step 1) grab nearest pillow
Step 2) discovers that i'm holding my favourite pillow...switch pillows ^_^
Step 2) whack away at the fire...
Step 3) choke to death at the ash that flies into your face

I have no bloody idea how it happened though. I don't leave the heater on when I sleep and even the power outlet was switched off. So its like wtf? Can only attribute it to a serious bout of bad luck la. Aihs. i just spent half my morning cleaning up the mess. mainly feathers from my blanket...and ash everywhere. have to wash half my wardrobe too. sigh... and i don't even want to estimate how much this will cost me. bloody huge hold in the middle of my room. I think i have to recarpet the whole room. Cuz theres holes in several other spots as well. ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!! stress... now i REALLY feel like going back home

Monday, June 20, 2005

heyy...what do you know? its my birthday today! and I'm gonna do...*drumroll* absolutely nothing for it! :p well..that's not entirely true, cuz i'm gonna go work later ^_^

its not like being officially 24 (ughh!) is gonna make my life any different. Don't really feel like doing any celebrations this year, cuz I don't feel like I deserve it. Jeremy said Ken-chan wanted to have us over for a steamboat dinner yesterday, but then I had to work :'( Aihs... I was thinking probably just having dinner and be done with 'celebrations' but I'm gonna be at work this weekend as well, so might probably end up not doing anything. I was at least supposed to go out for lunch with Lia today, but then I got ditched cuz she got called in for work.

I only just realised how absolutely dead my life would be if I didn't have internet Hmmmm....that statement really sounds kinda loser o_O But anyway, I'm just saying that cuz of my odd working hours. I usually don't get any day shifts at work now, so when I'm not working, everyone else is. And everyone is free when I'm at work o_O Not that it makes any difference now la...since Thos and Andy are stuck on WoW during the nights. Double aihs...

At least I got Fatt's project to keep me occupied for the moment. Getting paid $25/hour for it...so its a decent deal compared to the rest of my jobs. Maybe I should start considering this as a viable alternative to work. Just freelance my way through life. Sounds like good money...considering Fatt's received a quote of rm4K for this project from some guys in KL o_O Looks like a 15-20 hours job to me. Less than 10 if the guys are experienced and they don't need to do detailed documentation. So it might be roughly $200/hour... real good money $_$ I feel so cheated now...$25/hour *sniff* *sniff*

Friday, June 17, 2005

yeah.. i know i just posted an entry, but i wanted to link this:

Store Wars

Absolutely hilarious...
oh boy... feel so tired now. i only slept about 2 hours. got called in to work at the bar last night. i finished at 2.30am la... but then no bus and i'm too cheapo to take a cab. so i just park myself at delifrance and study. they actually have pretty good hot choc there. or did I mention that already? and their sausage croissant pretty nice too ^_^ i am soooo gonna get fat(ter :p) no more exercising too. aihs. feel uber lazy to start. thos isn't much motivation either...cuz hes been too busy to go training as well.

yeah. so anyway, i reach home about 5.30, then I played WoW for a while before sleeping. then jacq called me at around 8/9 to ask if I was going back KL. oh! I don't think i've mentioned that I'm contemplating going back for a short holiday. I want to go Yuchun's wedding, which is on the 2nd July. I really want to go... but I'm kinda torn between spending the money just to go back and have fun. Don't feel like I deserve it. Plus I just got another reason to stick around here. I got called up a while ago for a phone interview for a associate consultant position with HP. cool huh? i didn't do too well though. Brain wasn't functioning properly with the lack of sleep. I answered the questions pretty crappily (no, this isn't a dictionary word) and the good answers only came to me AFTER the interview was over o_O Oh well... i can't be stuffed dawdling on whats past.

oh! and i bumped into Adrian (uni friend) last night too. He looks like hes doing pretty well. So corporate looking compared to the last time I met up with (roughly a year ago). Didn't get to catch up with him much cuz I was on my way to work, but I think he might still be in CBA. Not too sure if he is still studying for his Masters though. So yeah...working life really does change people. Heheheh. He was quite the bludger back in uni too. Not that I wasn't...in fact, i still am! :p

Tuesday, June 14, 2005

what does it mean to be "full on" looking for work? I haven't had full time work for exactly 5 months today. I'm getting pretty tired of applying for work and stuff. Plus I tailor each cover letter I send out to target the job and company. So its kinda discouraging that I've only been to 1 interview so far o_O And thats out of errmm.. an average of 3 applications each week? I'm not one of those random mofos who apply for jobs that they don't know shit about. I only pick jobs that I know I can do... so its extra discouraging in a sense. Ah well

It doesn't feel too bad since I get to muck around doing part time work at the cafe and bar. I'm actually starting to enjoy making coffee and hot chocolate at work. Its pretty fun. I feel like getting one of those coffee machines so I can play around with it at home. I used to make hot choc at home a lot, but I don't anymore cuz you can't make a good one without the milk steamer.

On the other hand, I feel really bummed out after the weekends. Cuz I get shifts at both the bar and cafe. I wake up, go to work, come home, immediately sleep then wake up and go work again. The previous week was worse. No time to even come home to sleep. Just finished work at the bar and then I crashed at the Opera House staff room b4 starting work again o_O I've even been dreaming of working when I sleep. I know I was dreaming about making coffee b4 I woke up this morning. And I had the club's music playing in my head b4 I went to sleep. Aihs...

Oh well... I pretty much have the whole week off. No shifts until the weekend. So I can rest up abit.

leaving for work again in about 10 or so minutes. just eating a bowl of sausages now. should have bought some mozzarella as well... then i can melt it over the sausage. yummm!!

I got called in to work at Star Bar last night. I've never been to the club area before, so its pretty nice. The environment is definitely alot nicer than Shark. It used to be Planet Hollywood... so they kept the decor and stuff. I was working at the cafe as well... from 4-10, but I asked to leave at 8... so that I can start at Star Bar from 9-4 (ended up finishing at 4.45 though) Best thing about it is...its a Sunday AND a public holiday. So the money is pretty damn good :)

It wasn't as busy as expected la, so there wasn't a whole lot to do. The crowd definitely ain't as hot as the one at Space. Lots of uhh...very meaty girls o_O At least there were quite a few cute asian girls.

aiya..no time to blog la. need to go b4 i miss the bus.

another long weekend for me. I actually woke up because I was dreaming about working o_O Working too much :p Well... not really la. I think i'm still working less than 40 hours a week. maybe 30-35 including my shifts at the bar. Its just that the shifts I get turn my bio clock around. Worked from 9-5am last night. Its pretty good. I STILL haven't started out at the bar... the management kinda disorganised imo. Oh well..at least the money is still decent.

I got an additional shift today as well. and its sunday + public holiday pay too! Sweeettt!!!! but ermm.. gonna be quite sick la. cuz i'm supposed to be working at the cafe from 4-10pm, but i'm gonna ask to leave early and then start at the bar from 9-4am o_O Nice yeah?? :p

And I didn't even get much sleep too. Not that it stopped me from playing a spot of WoW after I woke up :)

i think the late nights and the odd hours are starting to get to me. starting to getting pimples again :'( and quite a few at the same time! well.. its not like i wash my face with cleanser daily as well. bloody lazy to do that. i don't have the best complexion in the world la... but at least i don't get huge ass pimples all that often.

heading off to work soon as well. just nuking my lunch at the moment. brought back some lasagna from work last night. i'm sooo getting fat(ter?) not exercising as much... and i've been eating some high carb stuff like pasta again. my weight is still sort of the same though...hovering between 78 to 80+. I tried starting up my daily home exercises on monday... but then WoW got updated with a new patch yesterday...so errr.. 'nuff said ^_^

nothing much new apart from that. i had lunch with a girl from melbourne on tuesday though. 27 yrs old...and she owns an apartment in Docklands (in melbourne) and drives an IS200 o_O makes me wonder where i'm headed. aihs. shes working as a maitre'd (no idea how to pronounce this) its pretty good pay for a relatively simple job. gets about $50K+ p.a. Aihs...what the hell was I thinking when I studied in uni...
